Motorola and Blackberry maker RIM end litigation war, enter into agreement

Patent wars are bad for companies and users. It’s good only for those trying to take advantage of the loop holes in the system. In a surprising move Motorola and Blackberry maker RIM have entered into a agreement that ends all outstanding worldwide litigation between the two companies. Moto had sued RIM over patents last year. The agreement will involve sharing of patents between the two companies. Peace !  But we are still waiting to hear something about the Apple – Nokia legal battle !

The Milestone is one of the best Android phones money can buy. Although the phone runs on a slower processor than the Nexus One or Desire , the QWERTY keyboard makes a lot of difference in the Android world which has numerous  touchscreen only phones .  Check out the photos and let us know what you think !

Qualcomm wins BWA Spectrum in Delhi, Mumbai , Haryana and Kerala

Qualcomm which had submitted it’s bid for the BWA spectrum in India has announced that it has won the Spectrum in 4 circles of Delhi, Mumbai , Haryana and Kerala. The company’s final bid stood at Rs.4912.54 crores or 1 billion USD approx. Qualcomm had announced previously that it would tie up with an Indian partner if it won the BWA spectrum.  We’ll find out soon who the Indian partner would be.  BWA stands of Broadband Wireless Access and this spectrum would be used by companies to provide Mobile Broadband services .

Nokia C7 leaked with 8MP Camera

The upcoming Nokia C7 has been leaked on a Chinese website and it’s rumored to have a 8MP Camera with 720p Video recording. Although the design does not look like a Nokia the front reminds us of the E65/E66 with the slider tucked in. The C7-00 is part of the Nokia Roadmap according to what we posted yesterday. You know I usually review top-range Phones, but this Time, thanks to Fone Arena, i got a new Challenge: the Acer BeTouch E110. The E110 is a low-cost, entrance-level Android Phone, suited perfectly for people who want to start exploring the (great) Android OS. For around €170 you get a small, handy little Device, sporting a 2,8″ Touchscreen, 3.2 Megapixel Camera, a whooping 1500 mAh battery and a tweaked Android 1.5 OS. Blackberry Pearl 9100 and 9105 launched in India

Today in a event in Mumbai ,  Research in Motion – RIM launched the Blackberry Pearl 3G in two models 9100 and 9105 in India.The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 features a 20-key condensed QWERTY keyboard and the BlackBerry Pearl 9105 features a 14-key traditional phone keyboard. Both the models include SureType which is T9 equivalent in BB world. Surprisingly no price has been announced but we are guessing it to be around the Rs.16-20000 mark.

Video : Nokia N8 Photo and Video Editing Demo

Nokia has posted a new video which shows the Photo and Video editing features in the upcoming Nokia N8. It does look impressive although a bit slow. We are okay with that considering this is a prototype. But finally cropping , editing 12 MP photos right on your phone would be cool for sure.

iPhone 4 Camera Samples

Every manufacturer seems to be publishing Camera samples of their upcoming phone to woo users to buy their product.  Apple finally upgrade the camera on it’s iPhone to a 5 Megapixel sensor on the iPhone 4 and also topped it up with a LED Flash. The phone also boasts of 720p HD Video recording. We would have loved to see a video sample but Apple has only shared untouched Camera samples straight from the iPhone 4 and they look amazing.
