Xiaomi has expanded its smartwatch lineup in China with the launch of the Xiaomi Watch 5, alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 features a 47 mm case with a 1.54-inch AMOLED display, a 2.6 mm ultra-narrow bezel, and up to 1500 nits peak brightness for outdoor visibility. Both the display and the heart-rate sensor window use synthetic sapphire glass.
The watch runs at 60Hz and supports smooth system-wide animations with Gaussian blur effects. The case is forged from a single piece of 316L stainless steel and polished through 36 steps for a high-gloss, continuous-line finish.
Straps
- 3D-printed titanium strap: TC4 titanium alloy with lattice grid structure, 3D printed with laser-melted micron-level powder at 1700 °C, layered through 800 steps. Weighs 43 g, 50% lighter than stainless steel bands, 20% lighter than conventional titanium straps, fits 140–210 mm wrists. Available in Titanium Silver and Titanium Black.

The watch uses a dual-chip architecture: Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 (4 nm) for system and graphics, paired with the Hengxuan 2800 low-power 5-core chip for monitoring tasks and battery efficiency. The 930 mAh battery (10% silicon) supports up to 6 days regular use and 18 days in power-saving mode.
Health and Fitness
Supports over 150 sports modes, including gym and outdoor activities. Gym training includes 80+ equipment-based courses with 3D animated guidance; the watch tracks reps, training volume, and weight data, generating post-exercise reports with muscle heat maps.
Outdoor features include full-color offline maps for running, trail running, hiking, mountaineering, and cycling, with route import, deviation alerts, and one-touch return navigation.
Health monitoring and medical features:
- ECG via mobile atrial fibrillation detection software (Class II medical device in China)
- 30-second ECG recordings using the lower button with noise-reduction; reports via Xiaomi Health app (for adults, reference only)
- Continuous monitoring: heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, sleep, with alerts and relaxation reminders
- Sleep analysis with AI-based insights and guided breathing, in collaboration with World Sleep Society, China Sleep Research Society, Asian Sleep Medicine Society, and Peking University Third Hospital
- One-touch health scan covering eight indicators, including cardiac health and blood pressure, supported by ongoing health research programs
Connectivity, Apps, and Gesture Control
The eSIM model supports independent connectivity: calls, messaging, apps, and daily tasks without a phone. Supports China Mobile dual-terminal and China Unicom independent watch number services. Includes an independent app store with 70+ apps, including WeChat, Alipay, NetEase Cloud Music, Keep, and Baidu Maps.
Gesture recognition uses an EMG sensor detecting hand muscle signals.
