Update: POCO has confirmed the launch of POCO M8 5G smartphone in India on January 8th.
According to the company, the M8 5G represents a shift toward a “design-led approach” within the mid-range segment. While the M-series has traditionally focused on value and performance, early promotional materials suggest a stronger emphasis on aesthetics and build quality for this generation.

POCO has positioned the upcoming device as the “slimmest smartphone in its segment.” The handset features a dual-tone finish, which the brand states is part of a modern design philosophy aimed at younger consumers who prioritize style alongside performance.
The company highlights three core pillars for the M8 5G:
- Style: A focus on visual appeal with a new dual-tone back panel.
- Durability: Enhanced build quality for everyday use.
- Usability: A slim form factor at 7.35mm and 178g light weight in the segment designed for better ergonomics.
First Look and Teasers
Ahead of the formal launch, POCO released the first official “Key Visual” (KV) of the device today at 12 PM IST across its social media platforms. This teaser offers the first public glimpse of the phone’s design language, though specific hardware specifications remain under wraps.
Earlier: POCO has started teasing the launch of POCO M8 5G, the company’s next 5G smartphone. It has a tag line ‘Designed to Slay’, and the company says “Power in your palm. Focus in every frame. POCO M8 5G doesn’t show up to compete; it shows up to finish. Designed to Slay.”
The rear design is familiar, and the teaser image shows a dual tone finish that we had seen in earlier POCO phones, including the POCO X7.

Press render of the POCO M8 5G surfaced last week revealing 3 colours and dual rear cameras for the phone. It is said pack a 6.77-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, and for the global markets it is said to come in up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage version.
It is said to pack a 5520mAh battery with 45W charging and IP65 ratings for dust and splash resistance.
We should know more details about the POCO M8 5G in the coming days, before it goes official sometime in January 2026. The POCO M8 Pro 5G is expected to launch later in February or March.
