Apollo Plus update rumored to bring improved WiFi, other fixes to Windows Phone 8

Rumors have surfaced that Microsoft plans to detail its next update for Windows Phone 8 at the Mobile World Congress in February. The update is expected to bring a lot of bug fixes alongside new features. The Verge suggests that Microsoft will be bringing bug fixes related to audio issues that some  users have been facing. We’re also expecting to see persistent WiFi capabilities introduced.

AnTuTu Benchmark 3.0 for Android released, brings new UI, better performance and more

AnTuTu Benchmark app has been updated to version 3.0.1. AnTuTu Labs previewed the features of the latest app last week, now it is available for download from the Google Play. This brings new features including enhanced memory direct read and write tests, new 2D test with better 2D rendering, OpenGL ES 2.0 for 3D Test, Redesigned and adjustment app UI and more. Most of the Benchmarking apps have been updated recently. Rightware launched Browsermark 2.0 few weeks back, and Vellamo 2.0 was launched few months back. 3D Mark is expected next month. iPhone 5 Shipping Estimates Drop to 1 Week

Last week, we reported that Apple has started to catch up on iPhone 5 demand in the U.S. Now, iPhone 5 shipping estimates for Asia and Pacific markets have dropped to just one week. That’s the shortest shipping estimate since the iPhone 5 went on sale back in September. A shorter shipping time might  mean demand is dropping, or more likely Apple has been able to ramp up production of the iPhone 5 to meet demand. LG ND8520 Speaker Dock for iPhone and iPad launched in India for Rs. 20990

LG has launched  ND8520 Speaker Dock for iPhone and iPad in India. You can dock your iPhone, iPod Touch or your iPad (with a 30-pin connector) to play music and it also has AirPlay support that lets you stream audio from these devices wirelessly. The 2.1 channel speaker has built-in woofer and minimizes sound loss, resulting in sound that is both crisp and rich in depth. It comes with a remote control and LG’s Bluetooth application for Smartphones to control the speaker easily. Nokia 206 Hands On

Alongside the QWERTY equipped Nokia Asha 205, the Finnish phone manufacturer also announced the Nokia 206 as part of its feature phone offering.

Facebook and Nokia partner for Asha 205 with dedicated Facebook button

Nokia announced Asha 205 and 206 earlier today in India. The Asha 205 is a Dual SIM phone with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display with QWERTY Keyboard that also has a dedicated Facebook button for one-click access to Facebook features. This would improve the user experience by brings important features including Facebook messages, photos and more. This is the first Nokia device to feature a dedicated Facebook button. Lava XOLO A700 Dual SIM phone with 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 coming soon

Lava has started teasing their upcoming XOLO A700 on their Facebook page. Looks like the X series is for Intel phones and the A series is for Android phones that are powered by ARM processors.It has a 4.5inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash at the back and a VGA front-facing camera. Nokia Asha 205 and 206 Dual SIM phones announced


Nokia has announced 2 new Dual SIM phones, Asha 205 and 206 in India. These phones come with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display, but the Asha 205 has A QWERTY keyboard with Island keyboard that increases readability, tactility and typing. Both these phones have Slam feature to share multimedia content like photos, music and videos with nearby friends instantly. It works on Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones without the need to pair devices, and without the recipient needing to also have Slam (iOS and Windows Phone not supported currently). Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sales surpass 5 million units

Samsung has announced that they have sold over 5 million units of Galaxy Note 2 globally. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note II at IFA in August and launched it in South Korea and India at the end of September. It took just 2 months for the Note 2 to achieve this feat, compared to 5 months for the first Note. It crossed 3 million units at the end of last month. Motorola Mobility India Website Shut Down , bye bye Moto

Seems hard to believe but Motorola does not have a dedicated website anymore for India.

Google had acquired Motorola Mobility in a multi-billion dollar deal last year and very recently the company had said that it was indeed shutting down its India operations due to the global restructuring under the new owner . The Motorola India website along with several other country sites have been shutdown and a message pops up when you log on to the site. WishTel IRA Icon HD 8-inch 3G tablet running Android 4.0 launched for Rs.12999

WishTel has launched IRA Icon HD, their new tablet with a 8-inch TFT capacitive multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It has 3G support with built-in SIM card slot and has voice calling features. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched a 7-inch tablet IRA THING 2 and a 10.1-inch IRA Comet HD few months back.
