The all the new Nexus 7 2013 edition just landed at FoneArena and we thought we will bring you one of the first unboxings from India.The new Nexus 7 is priced at $229 and has gone on sale in the US and is expected to come soon to India but not in the immediate future.Like the previous Nexus 7 , this tablet is also manufactured by Asus for Google and sold by Google directly.The main highlights of the 2013 Nexus 7 are the design including the massive Full HD display and the change from a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor to a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. This Nexus 7 is the first Android device to ship with Android 4.3 JellyBean out of the box which is now also available for several other devices.

Fly has launched the F40+, the company’s latest entry-level smartphones in the F series. The Fly F351 with 3.5-inch display, 1 GHz processor launched last month. This one has a 4-inch WVGA display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM with dual standby and has 2G (EDGE) support similar to the F351, however this one has 512MB of RAM and packs a 1400 mAh battery. Samsung has just announced the Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2, where the company is expected to unveil the new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 at the first Unpacked event on March 14th in New York. The Episode 2 would happen in Berlin on September 4th ahead of the IFA. Huawei was the first company to step into the 6inch + phablet category with Ascend Mate. The Huawei Ascend Mate was announced way back in January during the CES 2013, but the phablet has been available in India only since June. Samsung’s biggest phablet until the Mega series arrived was their Galaxy Note 2 with a 5.5inch display that we compared with the Ascend Mate recently. To expand the phablet portfolio and to compete in the larger phablet race, Samsung launched two new phablets – Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 .

In a turn of events for the Samsung-Apple patent controversy, US president Barack Obama’s administration has vetoed an import and sales ban on some Apple iPhones and iPads, upending a legal upper hand for Samsung. This is reportedly the first time since 1987 that a presidential administration has vetoed a ban by the country’s own International Trade Commission. This has raised a few eyebrows in the far east, in South Korea, where the media criticized the USA for protecting Apple.

Acer has unveiled the Liquid Z3, successor of the Liquid Z2 that was launched earlier this year. It has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor and comes with dual SIM support depending on the region. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and comes with a 3-megapixel rear camera without flash.

LG unveiled the Quick Window accessory for the G2 last week. Now the company has revealed the QuadBeat 2 earphones, successor of the LG QuadBeat headset that was first introduced with the Optimus G. Samsung has been recently having an obsession to provide solutions of convergence in weird form factors. We saw that with the Mega 6.3 and the Galaxy Note 510, both being devices with a certain feature, unknown to that specific form factor, hacked in, and the S4 Zoom falls in that same category. It is basically a Smartphone with a camera slapped on its back, or a point and shoot with a smartphone slapped on its back, you get the idea. Samsung started this trend with the Galaxy Camera, a high end point and shoot running Android, which is basically a connected camera, with 3G. Expectedly, Samsung has taken it further with the S4 Zoom adding phone functionality. Priced at Rs. 29,990, is the S4 Zoom a hack job or is it actually a good enough cameraphone? Lets find out.
