Sony Mobile has launched the Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 dual in India. These smartphones were announced back in January and packs a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). These have a 3-megapixel rear camera and offer 100dB loud audio output through rear speakers. These have Walkman key, shake to shuffle and hardware controls for easy music control. Google Chromecast now lets you stream embedded videos from Chrome browser for Android

When Google announced their $35 HDMI dongle in 2013, everybody saw a lot of potential for Google Chromecast. But Google had been little slow in opening up the SDK for the developers and it looks like it is slowly catching up. As of March 2014, you can now stream the videos from a webpage on your Google Chrome browser to your TV.

Google launches indoor Maps in India, available in 22 cities

Google has introduced indoor Maps in India finally, that lets you determine where you are, what floor you’re on, and where to go indoors and more, when you are visiting popular venues such as malls, supermarkets etc. Google Maps for Android got the Indoor maps feature back in 2011, later it was updated to support walking directions. Adobe Revel photo sharing and editing app now available for Android

Adobe has released the Adobe Revel app for Android devices. This lets you edit your photos with built-in tools such as Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12. It also lets you create a group library to share images. Adobe already has Adobe GroupPix for collaborative photo sharing and Photoshop Express for editing. Adobe Revel is already available for iPhone and iPad. The company has launched the smartphone in India as it promised last month. The Canvas Knight has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 2 GHz octa-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It features a 16-megapixel auto focus rear camera with M8 Largan lens, LED Flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. LG announced the G Pad 8.3 tablet back in September last year. It introduced the G Pad 8.3  Google Play Edition in December, that we reviewed recently. LG has released the G Pad 8.3 LTE exclusively on Verizon Wireless in the US. Except the LTE support via SIM card slot, other features are similar to the original LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels)  full HD display, quad-core 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Android Jelly Bean OS. Gartner Report : Worldwide Tablet sales up by 68% and Android continues to dominate

According to Gartner, the year 2013 was a pretty good year for tablets – a total of 195.4 million units were shipped during the year. The almost 200 million units is a 68% increase over the number of tablets shipped during 2012. The report also says that the sales of tablets was boosted by the low end smaller tablets and hence Android continues to dominate the tablet market. You can check out the numbers below.

Microsoft opens up Office 365 Android SDK

Microsoft has released the Office 365 software development kit for Android. With this, Microsoft is now opening up its SharePoint lists and files, Exchange contacts, mails and calendars to developers. Microsoft has made the preview available for download straight from GitHub.
