For every manufacturer, both big and small, there is a definite need to offer a variety of smartphones with different screen sizes. One of the most popular screen sizes at the moment, unless you’re Apple of course, is 5 inches which many manufacturers use for their flagship 1080p Full HD smartphones, like the LG G2 or Galaxy S4. Archos 53 Titanium Hands On
During IFA 2013, little known player Archos announced a range of new Android powered smartphones and tablets – the Titanium range is their entry-level offering and comes with dual-SIM functionality in four screen sizes. The Archos 53 Titanium is the largest of the bunch and sports a 5.3 inch TFT FWVGA display that has 854 x 480 pixels resolution – as you can imagine, the low resolution combined with large screen make for a relatively dull viewing experience.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 Benchmarks
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 3 211, the company’s latest 7-inch tablet in India back in July. We brought you the unboxing of the device last week, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a dual-core Marvell PXA986 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and Vivante GC1000 GPU. The last year’s Tab 2 was powered by a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor. Since this is a mid-range SoC, we can’t expect performance like the Exynos 4 Quad (4412) CPU present in the Note 8.0. Let’s check out how it performs when compared to ther other tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.

LINE messenger for Android and iPhone updated with Video calls, Albums and more
LINE, a cross-platform messaging app from a Japanese Internet Company was officially launched in India back in July. The app has received a major update for iPhone and Android to version 3.9, that brings a lot of new features including option to make and receive video calls, Albums feature that lets you create and edit photo albums with a friend or in groups and more. The iPhone app has Snap Movie function to add BGM to short videos and send them to your friends.
New features in LINE for Android and iPhone v3.9.0
- Make and receive Video Calls
- Snap Movie function lets uses create their own original video clip (up to 10 seconds), add BGM and share it with other LINE users (Only for iPhone)
- Albums lets you create and edit photo albums with a friend or in groups. Anyone in the group can add new photos to the album or delete existing ones.
- Now you can set privacy settings for each post on your Home/Timeline to limit its audience.
- Now you can remove friends from your Blocked or Hidden lists.
The new iPhone version also adds support for iOS7 and also allows you to forward videos received in chats to other groups or friends. Video calls feature is also available for Mac app. Snap Movie feature would be available for Android soon. The app is also available for Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

Spice launched the Spice Stellar Virtuoso Pro (Mi-491) back in July, now the Spice Stellar Virtuoso Pro+ (Mi-492), successor of the phone is now available from online retailer Saholic. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung Galaxy S4 vs LG Optimus G Pro
Today we have the Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S4 and LG’s first phablet – Optimus G Pro. Samsung’s Galaxy S4 was announced in March and has been available in the market since April while the G Pro was announced in February, but has been available in the market only since July. Xolo Play Tegra Note with Tegra 4 launching mid-October, Xolo Play Tab 7.0 with Tegra 3 coming this month
NVIDIA unveiled the Tegra Note, the company’s first Tegra 4 tablet last week. It partnered with Xolo to launch the tablet in India. NVIDIA Co Founder, President and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang showed off the Xolo Play Tegra Note at an event in Mumbai yesterday. Panasonic T11, T21 and P11 officially launched in India, priced between Rs. 9790 and Rs. 16490
Panasonic India has officially launched three new smartphone, T11 and T21 in the T Series and P11 in the P Series. The company launched their first smartphone, the P51 in India back in May. The P11 and T11 appeared online back in July and went on sale last week. The Panasonic T11 comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, Panasonic T21 has a 4.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and the Panasonic P11 comes with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. Both the T11 and P11 comes are powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, while the T21 has a 1.2 GHz dual-core Broadcom 28145 processor. BBM for Android and iPhone not coming this week, says BBM head
BlackBerry Messenger for Android was supposed to go live last week, but the launch was paused after the issues caused by leaked the Android APK. BlackBerry announced a couple of days back that they have paused the roll out since the leaked APK brought 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours, even before the official release that created several issues when they were about to release these apps officially.
