Xiaomi Redmi 1S gets global MIUI 6 beta ROM
Xiaomi has released a global beta build of its MIUI 6 ROM for the Redmi 1S smartphone. The company introduced MIUI 6, a major upgrade to MIUI ROM last year, but only few Mi devices such as Mi 4, Mi 3, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 and MiPad run on the stable MIUI 6 ROM. Developer ROMs are available for Mi devices in China, but this is the first time the company is releasing beta version of its ROM for global markets. Lenovo A6000 Plus with 5-inch HD display, 4G LTE, 2GB RAM announced for India
Lenovo has announced A6000 Plus at the Flipkart office in Bangalore during the live flash sale of its A7000 smartphone. The Lenovo A6000 Plus has a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI on top, similar to the Lenovo A6000 that was launched in India earlier this year, but the has RAM and internal storage have been upped to 2GB and 16GB, respectively compared to 1GB and 8GB on the A6000. Asus Zenfone 2 Benchmarks – ZE551ML with 4GB RAM and quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor
Asus introduced the Zenfone 2 smartphone at CES earlier this year, which will be launched in India in three variant on April 23rd. We brought you the unboxing and photo gallery of the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 clocked at 2.33 GHz with PowerVR G6430 GPU and has 4GB RAM. Apple acquires camera technology company LinX
Apple as acquired Israeli camera technology firm LinX. The financial details of the deal are not disclosed but CNBC says that it is estimated at $20 million.
Founded in 2011, LinX specializes in “multi-aperture imaging technology” for DSLR-quality images. The company’s cameras use multiple sensors to capture both 2D and 3D image. It also creates sensors with multiple lenses to help capture several images at the same time. The pictures can then be blended together into a single image, allowing for changing the image focus afterwards.
Apple confirmed the acquisition with its standard statement when it has bought a company. “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,”
In June 2014, LinX announced its first multi-aperture cameras designed for smartphones. LinX cameras are smaller in height than the regular mobile camera, but it delivers better quality and more detailed image. LinX claims that its camera systems also create better images in low light conditions, and faster exposure times in standard indoor light.

Apple schedules WWDC 2015 for June 8
Apple just announced that it’s 26th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for this year has been scheduled for June 8 till June 12 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. The company would reveal about the future of iOS and OS X at the event. It introduced Swift, a new programming language for OS X and iOS apps last year, this year it is expected introduce new features for Swift. Airtel Zero is not a tariff proposition, says the company after Flipkart backs out
Soon after Flipkart announced that it is backing out from joining Airtel Zero platform stating that the company is fully committed to the cause of net neutrality, Airtel has issues a statement that Airtel Zero is not a tariff proposition. The statement made by Flipkart regarding their decision not to offer toll free data service to their customers is consistent with our stand that Airtel Zero is not a tariff proposition, said the company. It says that it is merely an open platform for content providers to provide toll free data services on a completely non discriminatory basis. LeTV Le 1Pro and Le Max with Quad HD displays, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB RAM and Le 1 announced
LeTV, one of the popular video network operators in China today introduced three new smartphones – Le 1, Le 1Pro and Le Max in the country. The Le 1 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display from Sharp with 1.2mm slim bezel, aluminum frame and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and comes with 3GB RAM, the Le 1Pro has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display from Sharp, full metal body and the Le Max has a 6.33-inch Quad HD screen from Sharp with 80.3 screen-to-body ratio and 1.6mm slim bezel. Both the Le 1Pro and Le Max smartphones are powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 SoC and have 4GB RAM. All these runs on Android-based EUI.
