OnePlus 6 was launched last month and the community development of the device has already started. In fact, an official TWRP recovery has been released as well much like many other OnePlus phones. However, a security researcher Jason Donenfeld, president of Edge Security LLC has discovered a vulnerability on the device that allows the device to boot any arbitrary modified image that bypasses bootloader protection measures. OnePlus 6 OxygenOS 5.1.6 update brings front camera portrait, battery percentage in status bar and more

OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS 5.1.6 for the latest OnePlus 6 smartphone that brings several new features, including the portrait mode support for the front camera, as it had promised at the launch event. It also brings battery percentage in the status bar, Idea VoLTE support in India (However some are reporting that it still doesn’t work), Dual-4G network option and more, including power consumption optimization and system stability improvements. MediaTek Helio M70 7nm 5G Modem with up to 5Gbps download speeds announced, coming in 2019

MediaTek during the Computex 2018 last week in Taiwan silently introduced its M70, the latest 5G modem based on TSMC’s 7nm process incorporating EUV technology. The company said that it has collaborated with NOKIA, NTT Docomo, China Mobile, Huawei, and other vendors. It supports 5G NR (New Radio) and will meet the latest 3GPP Release 15 standard specification (complete specification released in June) With 5Gbps transfer rate. Apple said to be lowering new iPhone component orders by 20%

Apple is said to have asked its suppliers to build “around 20 percent fewer” components for the upcoming iPhones that are set to debut in the second half of 2018, according to four sources of Nikkei . Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 and Galaxy J7 2018 announced

Samsung has introduced 2018 editions of Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in the U.S. The phones come with 5-inch and 5.5-inch HD displays, respectively. The J3 comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera. The company did not reveal any other specifications of the smartphone, but a recent Geekbench listing reveals that the phone will be powered by Quad-Core Exynos 7570 14nm SoC with 2GB RAM, but the battery capacity is still a mystery.
