Asus ZenBook Pro 15 with 15.6-inch 4K display, interactive ScreenPad, Nvidia GTX 1050Ti launching in India on August 13

Asus today teased the launch of a new laptop in India on August 13th. According to the teaser and the official listing on Asus India website, it is confirmed that it will be ZenBook Pro 15, which was introduced at the Computex in June. This has a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution ScreenPad, an interactive display that intelligently adapt to match whatever you’re doing, making it easier and quicker to multitask and get things done. It can change functions automatically when you switch apps, and you can create your own shortcuts.

Asus Zenfone 5Z update adds RAW support, Panorama, camera improvements and more

ASUS launched its flagship Zenfone 5Z smartphone in India last month at a competitive price tag of Rs. 29,999. Today the company has started rolling out a new update that brings several new camera features, including option to save images in RAW format, shoot Panorama pictures, turn EIS on or off, several camera improvements, WiFi stability improvements and bug fixes. UIDAI says it has not asked telcos to save toll-free number in phonebooks

Several Android and some iOS users in India are reporting about the sudden Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) toll-free helpline number being saved in their contacts by default. UIDAI has replaced the helpline number with new 1800-300-1947 that got into people’s phonebooks without their consent. Musical.ly, the short-form video app has announced that it is shutting down and the users will be migrated to TikTok which is also a similar short-form video-sharing app from Chinese internet giant Bytedance. ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 (6GB RAM) Review

ASUS launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone in India back in April, and the phone went on sale from May 3rd in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage versions starting at Rs. 10,999. The 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version with 16MP primary rear and 16MP front camera went on sale in India last week for Rs. 14,999 in June. Apple hit with $145 million fine over WiLan patent infringement

Apple is fined $145 million by the jury in San Diego over infringing two WiLan patents relating to wireless communications technology, WiLan, a unit of Quarterhill Inc. Apple, on the other hand, confirmed that it plans to appeal. The company earlier rejected claims of infringement in pre-trial filings. Worldwide tablet shipments declined 13.5% in Q2 2018, Apple and Samsung continue to lead: IDC

According to IDC, worldwide tablet market declined 13.5% in Q2 2018 as global shipments fell to 33 million. Slate tablets accounted for the majority of the market with 28.4 million units, which is down 14.5% from the previous year. On the other hand, the detachable tablets also declined during the quarter largely due to the high-profile product launches in the Q2 of 2017 and the absence of timely updates to those products in 2Q18. Apple surpasses $1 trillion market cap, CEO Tim Cook thanks employees
