Huawei Ascend D quad, world’s fastest phone to be showcased today?

So with Huawei MWC conference will be starting in just about an hour but their in news already with someone spotting the Huawei Ascend D quad poster at the Barcelona airport. What’s interesting is that below the device, it carries the tagline “World’s fastest phone”. Wow, I think that is a bit too much, because we will also be having the HTC and the Sony conference today so I think yes, it might be the fastest smartphone for about 3-4 hours.

HTC One S shows up in the wild

ITProPortal.com have managed to get their hands on the upcoming HTC One S which is expected to be unveiled today at MWC. Previously known as the HTC Ville , the One S is a mid range handset with a 4.3″ screen , 8MP camera.

HTC plans to use a microSIM with the handset. The specifications for the handset have been previously leaked and include a dual core1.5GHz chipset, with Dr Dre Beats Audio technology on-board and HTC Sense 4.0 UI on top of Android 4.0 .

Samsung has announced the 10.1-inch variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. This has similar specs as the 7-inch version that was announced earlier this month such as 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 3MP rear-facing camera and VGA front facing camera. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Beam, projector smartphone the successor of their previous Beam. It has 4.0-inch 480×800 (WVGA) TFT display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has 5MP Auto focus camera with flash, 1.3MP secondary camera. It is 12.5mm thick and weighs 145.3 g. uTorrent native Android client in the works

 

The uTorrent development team is working on a native Android BitTorrent client for smartphones and tablets, according to TorrentFreak. They released the µTorrent Remote and BitTorrent Remote apps in the Android Market last year that offers remote access to the desktop clients. There are several third-party uTorrent apps in Android Market, but you need to opt for a paid version to utilize the complete features. Some apps are not completely optimized for your device. Samsung and Visa to showcase NFC mobile payment app for London Olympics at MWC

Samsung and Visa has announced the official mobile payments application of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games. They confirmed the partnership to introduce NFC payments in 2012 Olympic games last April. The application is based on Visa’s payWave technology that enables contactless payments at the Point of Sale. Nokia has announced that Microsoft Apps, list of productivity apps from Microsoft are now rolling out for Belle smartphones as they announced last September . Nokia started rolling out Nokia Belle update for Anna devices earlier this month and for the Nokia 500 last week.
