State Bank of India and Airtel announce joint venture for mobile banking

State Bank of India (SBI) and Bharti Airtel have announced a joint venture to offer banking services to consumers who don’t have access to traditional banking services.   Consumers can open a bank account with SBI at Airtel’s customer service points and avail banking services.We are really trying to get more information how this tie-up with actually work and what part of it is mobile banking. Will Reliance or Tata Indicom get the CDMA iPhone 4 ?

Aircel and Tata to team up to offer 3G services ?

When the 3G licenses were awarded to operators in India last year , none of the players won a pan-India license. Some players won licenses in 13 circles and others in 9 or lesser number of circles. Nokia X7-00 , E6-00 confirmed via OVI publisher tool

We already knew that the Nokia X7-00 and E6-00 were coming . We got more confirmation today through a publisher tool which has revealed these model names along with a few other phones which may or may not be new handsets. Samsung Flexible Mobile AMOLED Display Pics

Samsung unveiled a 4.5-inch WVGA Flexible AMOLED display at CES 2011. The display is about  2mm thick and is flexible. The AMOLED runs at a 800 x 480 resolution (WVGA) and can be rolled down to a one centimeter radius. Sounds pretty awesome right ? Take a look at the pics for the proof.

We are all great fans of the Angry Birds game which has had record number of downloads across all app stores be it iPhone , Android, Ovi. Now get ready to play this game as a board game this summer.Toy maker Mattel is launching this board game where you can launch the angry birds using a slingshot to take down the pigs. The game also involves cards where players can take turns.

Skype to acquire Qik for $100 million ?

BusinessInsider is reporting that Skype is planning to acquire  mobile video sharing service Qik for a whopping $100 million.Qik is available on all major mobile platforms including iPhone , Blackberry , Symbian , Android. The company has a great relationship with Handset makers and Carriers.The company announced 5 million users last month.

Sony’s Exmor R mobile sensor promises high-quality photos and videos in low light

Sony announced 8.1 MP and 16.4 MP Exmor Mobile CMOS sensors back in October and looks like the XPERIA ARC is one of the first handsets to get one of these sensors planted. While we are still firguring out the exact model of the sensor used we are sure it’s a Exmor branded one. Sony Ericsson announced that the XPERIA Arc Android handset features a Exmor R mobile sensor capable of capturing 8.1 MP Photos and do 720p HD video recording.One of the interesting features of the Exmor R mobile sensor is improved image and video capture in low light. XPERIA ARC hitting India this March ?

Sony Ericsson just sent out some information regarding the upcoming XPERIA ARC which is a great looking phone. Looks like we have to wait till end of March this year for that handset to hit stores. This Android 2.3 smartphone with an ARC design and 8.7 mm thickness has managed to impress us for the looks.It’s got a nice 8.1 MP camera too.  We can’t wait to get our hands on it.

BlackBerry 4G PlayBook for Sprint !


The BlackBerry Playbook is one impressive tablet atleast from what we have seen so far. When RIM announced this tablet few months ago , it spoke only about WiFi versions but hinted at 3G/4G versions for the future. And today at CES Sprint and RIM announced the BlackBerry 4G PlayBook for the Sprint 4G ( WiMax) network. It is expected to be launched this summer.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is official , will be launched in select markets worldwide

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA ARC which was leaked yesterday was finally made official at CES in Las Vegas. The handset is powered by Android 2.3 operating system and features a sexy Arc design which is just 8.7mm at the thinnest portion.The ARC sports a 4.2 inch display featuring a Mobile Bravia engine.
