YotaPhone 3 and 2C under development – Might be announced sometime this year

While the YotaPhone 2 was announced back in February 2014 during MWC, the smartphone was delayed quite a bit and has only recently become available in many markets. In fact the YotaPhone 2 was announced prior to the original YotaPhone was made available worldwide. However it seems that the company is already working on the follow up to the YotaPhone 2 and this time there will be two devices – YotaPhone 3 and YotaPhone 2C.

Now the smartphone has received price cut of Rs. 5,000 and is available for Rs. 12,999 from Flipkart. The YotaPhone has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LCD multi-touch main screen and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels) E-Ink rear screen. Flipkart teases exclusive launch for dual screen YotaPhone in India

Few weeks back Flipkart revealed exclusive launch of dual screen YotaPhone in India through newsletter sent to the its affiliate partners. The smartphone was also listed on Flipkart website last month. Today Flipkart has confirmed that it is indeed launching the smartphone exclusively in India and has posted a teaser image too. The YotaPhone was first introduced at the MWC 2013 year and went on sale in several counties in December last year. Yota Devices would launch the YotaPhone in India exclusively on Flipkart. This was revealed in the newsletter sent to the Flipkart’s affiliate partners. The smartphone was listed on the official website last month, as noted by MakTechBlog, but it was pulled later. Still the cache of the page on the Flipkart website reveals the incomplete listing of the first YotaPhone C9660 in White. The first YotaPhone with dual display was announced in MWC 2013 and they went on sale in December. Fast forward a year and they are here at MWC 2014 announcing the second generation YotaPhone. Unlike the original YotaPhone, the second generation YotaPhone is packed with top of the shelf specifications and has everything in it to compete with the top end smartphones.

Yota Devices has finally launched the YotaPhone at an event in Russia as we reported recently. The YotaPhone is priced at 499 Euros in Europe and costs 19,980 Rubles in Russia. The company showed off the phone with dual screens at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year. It has 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LCD capacitive multi touch main screen and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels)  E-Ink rear screen. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8960 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 ( Jelly Bean). The phone also has special YotaPhone gestures and Put2Back applications for the back screen. The company confirmed that the phone would launch next month, and TechCrunch is reporting that it would be available internationally. The company showed off the phone with dual screens at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year.
