China smartphone shipments reach 98.9 million units, down 3.6% YoY in Q3 2019: IDC

Smartphone shipments in China appear to be improving with a 3.9% decline YoY, up from the 6% decline YoY in Q2 2019, thanks due to HUAWEI’s strong domestic sales. The top 5 manufacturers in China for Q3 2019 were HUAWEI, Vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi and Apple with the total smartphone shipments counting to 98.9 million units.

Apple said to be working on AR/VR Gaming headset for 2022, AR glasses for 2023

Apple has long been rumoured to be working on AR and VR products. New reports from The Information and Bloomberg suggest that Apple is working on a bunch of products based on an advanced 3D Time of Flight sensor that will first make an appearance in the upcoming iPad and iPhones next year.

Indian Premium Smartphone market saw record 66% YoY growth in Q3 2019, OnePlus leads with 35% share

After overall Indian smartphone market performance, Counterpoint has posted details of the performance of the premium smartphone segment in Q3 2019, which reveals 66% YoY growth, an all-time record high. Worldwide smartphone shipments up 1% YoY in Q3 2019 showing signs of recovery, Samsung leads with 20% market share: Reports

Smartphone shipments for Q3 2019, after a long time, has seen growth of 1% compared to the same period last year. Reports released by Counterpoint Research and Canalys show smartphone shipments of 380 million and 352.4 million, respectively. International Data Center (IDC) is yet to publish their report on smartphone shipments.
