OnePlus has released OxygenOS open beta update 15 for the OnePlus 6T and beta 23 for the OnePlus 6 that brings several improvements, including the most expected DC dimming feature, as it had promised earlier. DC dimming essentially lowers the actual amount of power going to the display at lower brightness levels, generating less heat and, avoiding excessive flashing that causes eye fatigue. This feature can be enabled from Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Laboratory > DC Dimming. It also adds new features to Screen Recorder and Weather, along with bug fixes and stability improvements.

ASUS has announced the ROG Phone II, successor of last year’s ROG Phone. It has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 120Hz, 1ms response time AMOLED display with DCIP3 gamut, is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with up to 12GB of RAM. It has 3D vapor chamber that efficiently transfer heat away from the SoC and into the body while gaming and there are vents on the back. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, compared to rear-mounted fingerprint sensor in the predecessor. It has a 48-megapixel rear camera along with a 13-megapixel 125° ultra-wide camera, and a 24-megapixel camera on the front.
After announcement earlier this month, Xiaomi today opened crowdfunding for its Mi Water TDS Tester in India. It has an Anti-rust and Anti-corrosion sensor, LCD screen, features an IPX6-rated waterproof body and can detect TDS of up to 9990 in few seconds with a press of a button. After the Z5x announcement in May, Vivo is all set to introduce the Z5 smartphone in China on July 31st. Official images confirm waterdrop notch display, triple rear cameras with a 48-megapixel primary camera, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Recently a Vivo phone with the model number V1921A a similar design got certified by TENAA that reveals complete specifications of the phone.
We already know Xiaomi is working on a new smartphone with a 64MP sensor. Today the company has posted the first camera sample from the smartphone, which shows the details it captures that is clear even when you zoom in. Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing has also posted a screenshot of the camera UI that shows the 64MP mode, similar to the 48MP option on its phones which support it.
