Angry Birds 2 released for Android, iPhone and iPad
Rovio has released Angry Birds 2, the first sequel to the most popular game that was released 6 years back. Visuals and gameplay have been overhauled from the ground up with multiple stages in each level and new spells, including blizzards, magic ducks and even hot chili peppers to wield against the pigs, said the company. It retains the usual slingshot format, lets fans to challenge other gamers worldwide and also choose their own fowl to fling.

Airtel launches 4G LTE trials in Shillong
Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trial in Shillong, which becomes the first city in North East to get Airtel 4G in the country. It already launched 4G trials in Rourkela, Tumkur, Manipal, Udupi, Hubli, Dharwad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Vizag, Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mumbai. Swipe announces online-only brand Elite, first smartphone coming in August
Swipe Telecom has announced a new online-only sub-brand called Elite, which will include premium smartphones. The first Elife series smartphones will be priced between Rs. 5,000 and Rs, 15,000, and the first Elite smartphone will launch in August, said the company. Samsung Q2 2015 profits down 8% YoY due to weak smartphone sales
Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2015, in which the company has managed to make operating profit of 6.90 trillion ($5.93 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2015, down 4% from 7.19 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. It has reported net profit of 5.75 trillion won ($4.93 billion), down 8% YoY, on revenues of 48.54 trillion won, up 3% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). OnePlus 2 supports both FDD 1800 MHz and TDD 2300 MHz 4G LTE bands in India
OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 2 smartphone yesterday. On the official website, including the OnePlus India website only the FDD-LTE bands were mentioned initially. Now the company has updated the website to add list of TDD-LTE bands. So the OnePlus 2 supports both TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) for India. Meizu has announced m2, successor of the Meizu m1 at an event in China. It packs a 5-inch HD screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 75.6%, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek processor, compared to the MT6732 SoC on the predecessor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS. LG Q2 2015 profits down 60% YoY, 14.1 million smartphones shipped
LG Electronics has reported revenues of 13.99 trillion won (US$ 12.69 billion) in Q2 2015, which is 0.5% down compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 244.1 billion won (US$ 222.52 million), down 60% percent from the same period the previous year. Net profit was 226.4 billion won (US$206.38 million) during the quarter, down from 411.8 billion won a year earlier. Samsung introduces first 16MP camera sensor with 1.0 micron pixels for smartphones
Samsung has announced that it has started mass production of industry’s first 16-megapixel CMOS image sensor (S5K3P3) with 1.0μm-pixel size for high-end smartphones. This is smaller than the 1.12 micron-pixel based 16-megapixel sensor such as Sony IMX240 in the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge and Samsung’s own S5K2P8 sensor on the Galaxy S5. Motorola just launched Moto G (3rd Gen) in India at an event in Delhi, as expected. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and has IPX7 rating for water resistance that can withstand immersion in 3 feet water for 30 minutes.
