ARM has announced Cortex-A73 processor based on 10nm FinFET process technology and Mali-G71 for flagship devices that will be released from 2017. The high-end Cortex-A73 is the company’s most efficient and highest performance applications processor that would offer 30% more performance than the Cortex-A72. Sony has launched Xperia X and Xperia XA, the company’s latest smartphone in the new ‘X Series’ in India. Both these were announced at the MWC earlier this year. The Xperia X has a 5-inch 1080p screen, is powered by a Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 SoC, has a fingerprint sensors on the power button and a 23-megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus that lets you choose your subject and then predicts its motion.

MediaTek just introduced Pump Express 3.0, its fastest battery charging technology yet. This promises to charge smartphone battery from 0 to 70% in just 20 minutes and 5 minutes of charge promises four hours talk time. “That’s almost twice as fast as competing solutions currently on the market and five times faster than conventional charging,” said the company.
