Samsung unveiled the Galaxy K zoom, the company’s latest camera-centric smartphone with a 20.7-megapixel at an event in Singapore few hours back. We got some hands-on time with the camera phone. Even though it has 10x optical zoom like the S4 zoom, this has a new retracting lens technology to make the phone’s body slim at 20.2 mm (16.6mm at its thinnest). Today we’ve the unboxing of the Samsung Galaxy S5. It was officially announced in February during Mobile World Congress 2014. It is now available for purchase in India through Samsung stores and most other retailers.
Last month, LG had announced the LTE variant of their popular G2 smartphone. While they had a demo of the device, it was mainly for the press and media. Now Qualcomm and LG have set up an LTE Experience Zone for the public in Bangalore.

While Oppo’s flagship device ie the Find 7 clearly stole the show, they also announced a ‘lower’ spec variant of the phone that will be making its way to India shortly. It just feels like yesterday, when almost all of us were in denial that a Nokia Android phone could exist, but Nokia has put forward its boldest bet ever, especially at a time when it has been acquired by Microsoft, a company that has been at odds with Google since forever. Anyways, the device was revealed to much excitement and curiosity at the Mobile World Congress event, and eventually arrived in India just few weeks later. We had unboxed the device and also showed you how to root it and get Google Play services and apps on it, but as you might have guessed by now, we were curious to find out more about the device over the course of our usage. At an event in Beijing, we just witnessed the launch of Oppo’s next flagship device. Dubbed the Find 7, the phone combines some hardware firsts with a range of software innovations to create a very intriguing product. Micromax launched the Canvas Knight A350, the company’s first smartphone with Octa-Core processor in India earlier this month. This is one of the first phones in India to feature a full HD display and a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chip. The Micromax Canvas Turbo too had a 5-inch 1080p display, but it was powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589T chip. Check out the unboxing below. Gionee, one of the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturers launched the Elife E7 in India at the end of last year. It went on sale across India recently. The company’s latest flagship smartphone in the Elife series features a 5.5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It starts at Rs. 26,999, bit higher than their predecessor, the Gionee Elife E6, but it is cheaper when compared to other smartphones in similar range. Over the past few years, with the introduction of their smartphones and tablets, Archos has proven that it is not just a company that is known for it’s PMPs (Portable Media Players). They introduced a few devices at CES in January this year and MWC last month as well. Here are the three new devices that they announced at MWC 2014.
While Oppo is in the limelight for their upcoming Find 7 smartphone which is set to be announced later this month, they were also present at MWC 2014. While they did not have the Find 7 there, they did have the Oppo R1 (R829T). So here we bring to you a hands-on of the device.
Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo at the Mobile World congress in Barcelona earlier this week. We managed to do a hands-on comparison between the two. Even though the Gear 2 has the same 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display, this offers vibrant colors. This one is powered by Tizen OS, so the navigation is much faster than the Android-powered Galaxy Gear. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 Neo along with the Gear 2 at the MWC 2014. The Gear 2 Neo is a cheaper version of the Gear 2 with plastic build and also lacks the camera. It has a 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by Tizen OS. It is 10.0 mm thick, similar to the Gear 2, but weighs 55 grams, about 13 grams lighter than the Gear 2. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2 at the MWC 2014 earlier this week. It is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, this one runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices, hence it is much faster in terms of navigation. The Gear 2 has the same 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear, but the processor has been improved.
