Acer Liquid Z200 Hands On and Photo Gallery

Acer unveiled the Liquid Z200, an entry-level smartphone last week ahead of Computex 2014. We got to check out the device that was on display on the show floor. The 4-inch WVGA display has limited viewing angles but the build quality is pretty good. The phone is powered by a dual-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1 GHz and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box, which is pretty good for an entry-level phone. Check out the hands-on below. Gionee Elife S5.5 Unboxing

Back in February, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress, Gionee announced the Elife S5.5 which is currently the slimmest smartphone. The Gionee Elife S5.5 comes with a Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by MediaTek’s Octa-core SoC. It also comes with a 13MP camera module on the back. The device is super thin and today, we have the device at our office and we will be bringing you the unboxing.

Oppo Find 7a Camera Samples

Oppo Find 7a is one of the successors of the popular Oppo Find 5. Oppo Find 7a comes with a 13MP rear camera that can record 4K videos thanks to the Snapdragon 801 SoC inside it. There is a also a 5MP front camera that was designed for video chatting, but is being used these days for “selfies”. The Oppo Find 5 too had a 13MP rear shooter and it was a very capable one. The Oppo Find 7a is arriving a year later than the Find 5 and lets check out how improved the camera on the Oppo Find 7a is.

The 13MP rear camera can definitely take some great photos as we found out in our review of the Find 7a. Oppo has done a great job in the camera department of the Find 7a. You can find the camera samples right below. Use CTRL+CLICK to open the full resolution images in a new tab.

As you can see above, the 4K video samples is full of colors and details. The Oppo Find 7a definitely has one of the best 13MP camera modules on a smartphone and the software algorithm seems to complement the camera performance.

Micromax launched the Unite 2 A106, the company’s latest budget phone and its first smartphone running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) recently at Rs. 6,999. Micromax had launched several smartphones with similar specifications, but this has a 4.7-inch WVGA IPS screen and packs 1GB of RAM that is not seen on other Micromax smartphones in this budget. We know one thing for sure – they are coming. Yeah! Smartwatches are coming as Apple seems to be prepping an iWatch while Google has already released a platform – Android Wear and its SDK for developers. Wearables are a huge category, but right now, in 2014, the concentration seems to be on smart watches. LG and Motorola were among the first companies to hop in with Google in the smart wearables market.

HTC Desire 816 Dual SIM Unboxing and First Impressions

HTC’s Desire 816 is the company’s bold bet in the mid range phablet segment, where it has literally been non-existent so far. The 5.5 inch device with a 720p screen was launched along with the HTC One M8 in India, but it has reached the retail only now, but for an attractive price of Rs. 23,990. Competing with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and the Sony Xperia T2 Dual, the Desire 816 strikes a good balance between specifications and price, which is what the segment exactly wants. We weren’t able to get a complete look at the 816 when it launched at the MWC, mainly because it had the same Sense experience on the software side, but we have finally got the retail version here in India, and we present you our usual unboxing video with a quick look at the phone’s hardware and a bit of the software, take a look –

Samsung Galaxy S5 Review

For the past 4 years, there is an event that most phone geeks look forward to; the announcement of the latest Samsung Galaxy S flagship. Ever since the launch of the original Galaxy S smartphone which was a big success for a flagship device at the time, we have all waited to see what Samsung brings in new every year with the successor to the previous model. Samsung have a history of providing a do it all device with every feature you could imagine packed into a single device. Naturally this year also everyone expected the same.

Each year Samsung manages to sell more and more of it’s flagship device and this year it’s expecting to do the same. However it does have some fierce competition from the likes of HTC and Sony. Only time will tell how it stands against them but let’s take a look at the S5 and how it performs.

Lava’s Iris 504Q, a mid range phone that released last year, came with a great screen, a decent camera and good build quality. Fast forward to now, we have its successor, the Lava Iris 504Q+, which comes with some minor changes in specifications as well as build quality and more importantly, the camera. Priced at 13,990 Rs. the Iris 504Q+ sports a 10 MP Sony sensor and an upgraded in-built storage of 8 GB, which makes it slightly better than its predecessor. Xolo Q1010i Unboxing

Xolo had launched the Q1010 back in February, but they already came back with an updated model, the Xolo Q1010i, in April, with a slightly higher price tag of Rs. 13,499. The very similar Q1010i sports an upgraded camera module, packing a Sony EXMOR R sensor, that used to be all the rage when Sony had it on the Xperia Arc, its yesteryear flagship device. Samsung Galaxy K zoom vs Nokia Lumia 1020 Hands On

Today, Samsung announced the successor of the Galaxy S4 zoom as a new Samsung Galaxy K zoom. The main talking point of this camera centric device is the 20.7 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 4.4-44mm lens with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Xenon Flash. The Galaxy K zoom features a much better packaging (relatively) and better specifications than the yesteryear predecessor – Galaxy S4 zoom. We will be comparing it with the Nokia Lumia 1020.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy K zoom, the company’s latest camera-centric smartphone with a 20.7-megapixel at an event in Singapore recently. We got some hands-on time with the camera phone and also managed to compare it with some phones, including the Galaxy S5. Next to the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy K zoom looks exactly similar on the front. The Galaxy K zoom has a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and the S5 has a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen. Both these run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the latest Touchwiz UI. Samsung Galaxy K zoom vs Galaxy S4 zoom hands on

Samsung launched a new brand of cameraphone with the original Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom last year. Definitely things did not go as Samsung expected with the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Last year, Samsung just added a bulky camera unit to a mid-range smartphone and used the then flagship – Galaxy S4 moniker to sell it. But this year, Samsung seems to have actually added something to the device and taken the flagship branding away. We will be checking out the hands on comparison with its predecessor – Galaxy S4 Zoom and also with other smartphones.
