Over the past few months, we’ve been consistently impressed by the offerings brought forth by Gionee. With a focus on bringing high end specifications at a mainstream price point, the company has mostly succeeded with the likes of the Elife E6 and E7. The China based smartphone manufacturer recently announced its launch of what it calls the world’s slimmest phone. Dubbed the Elife S5.5, the USP of the phone is most definitely the aesthetics. Gionee has started rolling Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Gionne Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone. Along with the Android 4.4’s features such as wireless printing, support for emojis and more, this update also brings a new layout, update for Amigo Paper and Game Zone with a new UI, updated GioneeXender app and more. Gionee Elife S5.5 Camera Samples

Gionee Elife S5.5 is currently the thinnest smartphone out there, but somehow Gionee managed to put a 13MP shooter on the back of the 5.5inch device although the 13MP module protrudes out considerably. The Gionee Eife S5.5 is powered by a MediaTek Octa-core processor and has a 5inch Super AMOLED display making it a higher mid range smartphone.

Gionee Elife S5.5 Unboxing

Back in February, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress, Gionee announced the Elife S5.5 which is currently the slimmest smartphone. The Gionee Elife S5.5 comes with a Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by MediaTek’s Octa-core SoC. It also comes with a 13MP camera module on the back. The device is super thin and today, we have the device at our office and we will be bringing you the unboxing.

Gionee Elife S5.5 Photo Gallery

Gionee had introduced the world’s slimmest Smartphone, the Elife S5.5, to India, at a huge event in Goa today. Powered by a MediaTek Octa Core processor, the Elife S5.5 will sell for a price of Rs. 22,999, but that tiny detail aside, the device is all about design and engineering. The svelte frame, machined at a stunningly thin 5.55 mm of thickness makes the device look really appealing to see as well as touch. Sporting a 5 inch 1080p screen, the device looks like a sleek slab from the front as well as the sides. It’s styled well, with a minimalistic approach to design, and evidences of it being too thin show up, especially with the camera module. The frame itself is an engineering marvel, as we had seen when we went hands on with the phone at the Mobile World Congress event, where it was introduced to the world. Today, we had our chance to have a look at it again, but this time, without the intrusive cables. Skip past the break for some photos of this gorgeous device.

Gionee has launched Elife S5.5, world’s slimmest smartphone in India as it promised earlier this month. It was unveiled in China last month and has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.2 with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with stacked Sony sensor, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 95 degree wide-angle lens. Gionee introduced the Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone at just 5.55 mm thickness at an event in China last week. The company showcased the device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, and we got some time to check out the slimmest device. The phone has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display from Japan Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Gionee has just announced the Elife S5.5, the company’s thinnest smartphone at an event in China. It is said to be the world’s thinnest phone that has 5.5mm thin magnesium alloy frame. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display module is just 0.55mm thick and the back cover is 0.40mm thick, that is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, making the phone very slim. It It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.2 with Amigo 2.0 UI on top.
