Nokia N96 Firmware updated to v.30.033, testing in progress

Close on the heels of the release of firmware update for N97 Nokia has today released a firmware update for the N96 taking its firmware to v.30.033 from the previous v.20.050. As with every firmware this too shall make your N96 more stable and faster to use.

The Firmware update Over The Air weighs at 3956 kb and the update OTA works as breeze, and since the N96 has UDP (User Data Preservation) so updating would not erase your Contacts Calender data etc, but as always Do Backup your data before updating. Get HTC Hero SenseUI Interface on T-Mobile G1

Well just recently HTC announced their Hero phone which has a unique SenseUI. The HTC Hero is the only handset at present featuring the HTC SenseUI. But some folks have managed to get the UI running on a Android phone such as the HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1. All you have to do is reflash your phone with the SuperHERO ROM. The ROM actually has a part of the HTC Hero’s firmware and the main thing is that Multi-Touch gets added.

Nokia N97 New Firmware Released and Tested – v11.0.021

Nokia has released a new firmware for the Nokia N97 Version :v11.0.021 UPDATE :  Varun got v.11 on his N97 White . The update was around 3.7 MB and took about 5 mins to install on the phone. Nokia 5800 v31.0.0.15 Firmware Update Coming soon

Good News for all the Nokia 5800 users, A new firmware update (v 31.0.0.15) is in the offing.

Recently, Nokia Conversations released their “Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Introduction” video on Youtube.  But if you watch the video attentively, at the 0:57 second of the video, you can clearly see that the Firmware version of the Nokia 5800 is showing as v.31.0.015.  And also Steve Litchfield of All About Symbian has also quoted in one of their articles that v31 firmware was the stable release inside Nokia a couple of weeks ago and he suspects it will appear in public this week.

1 Million Apple iPhone 3GS Sold!

The Apple iPhone 3GS which is the successor to the previous Apple iPhone 3G was released 3 days ago. Within this short period of 3 days, Apple has managed to sell 1 million units of the iPhone 3GS.

HOWTO : Upgrade to iPhone 3.0 on your Unlocked iPhone

The iPhone 3.0 Software is releasing on June 17th. Thats not too far but the firmware is already out on the interwebs. This guide is meant only for folks who are comfortable hacking their iphones.

We tested this guide on a iPhone 2G which was running version 2.1 firmware. Now its running version 3.0 and still remains unlocked. We had some issues with the upgrade and the phone got bricked a couple of times.

The Steps

  • Backup your iPhone using iTunes first . Would be useful just in case you wish to restore data.
  • This process will format your phone memory . Make sure to save all important stuff and make a not of apps installed.
  • You will need a Pwned version of the iPhone firmware before you restore to the 3.0 firmware.
  • Get iTunes 8.2 . Previous versions wont work !

E90, the King of Communicators gets a Firmware Update after 8 months

The aging E90 Communicator has just received a firmware update from Nokia after almost Eight months and is now at  v. 400.34.93 up from v. 300.34.84 which it received in October 2008. The details of Firmware changes have not yet trickled out but as always one can expect the firmware update to make the device faster, more stable and fix some bugs. Nokia E75 gets a Firmware update, V110.48.125 Now

Nokia today released a firmware update to its latest QWERTY E-Series handset the E75. The current firmware for the device stands at V110.48.125 up from v100.48.78. The firmware update is available via the Nokia Software updater and also Over The Air(OTA). The OTA update is around 5 mb and would be a breeze if you are using wi-fi or 3G but it might take some time on EDGE connection. The device supports UDP(User Data Preservation) so none of your contacts messages etc will be deleted but we still advice you to make a backup of the device before updating
