Syntonetic the company which released the PlaylistDJ app for Nokia Touchscreen phones is now making the app available for free for non-touchscreen Nokia phones too.  The app basically analyzes your music library stored on the phone and then displays tracks based on the mood of the song – joy, passion, anger and tempo etc. The app has is approaching 1 million downloads on the OVI Store already.

Microsoft Communicator Mobile latest child from the Redmond Espoo Alliance

Last year Nokia and Microsoft announced an alliance to bring Mobile Productivity solutions to Nokia phones and the first child from the alliance is Microsoft Communicator Mobile and application is now available from the Ovi Store. Only Nokia E72 and Nokia E52 seem to be supported at the moment.

Nokia warns about unofficial PR 1.2 Firmware update , can damage phones

The much awaited PR 1.2 firmware update for the Nokia N900 has been leaked and this unofficial update has been circulating on the Internet since yesterday .

We had posted this news on MaemoArena along with a bunch of screenshots and the changelog. We had warned that this update was not official and might brick your phone. Now Nokia has stepped in and tweeted that this unofficial update is causing damage to N900 devices. So users are requested to stay away from this update

Fennec Pre-Alpha Version Now Available For Android

The pre-alpha version of Fennac was recently made available for Android devices. Currently it works only on Nexus One and Motorola Droid. Since this is the pre-alpha version, it may have lots of bugs, but it works almost perfectly on these devices.

Microsoft and HTC sign Patent Agreement

In a interesting turn of events Microsoft who is the maker of Windows Mobile Operating System has signed a Patent agreement with  phone maker HTC. Taiwan based HTC has been one of the biggest supporters of Windows Mobile so far and now they are one of the major adopters of Android with handsets like the Google Nexus One, HTC Desire and Legend.As a part of the new agreement HTC will have to pay Microsoft a royalty. Looks like Android OS has some Intellectual Property issues.

Review – Monkey Flight by Donut Games

Monkey Flight by Donut Games is one of those super fun games from the App Store that I’ve been addicted to for the last week on my iPod Touch. The storyline is simple: you have to throw a monkey across a field of fruits, collect a certain amount to advance to the next level, all while avoiding to fall on the floor, crash against rocks or fall in mud ponds. Your progress can be improved if you bounce on elephants or clouds, and you get 2 additional banana boosts every level by tapping on the screen.

Blackberry OS 6 Screenshots Leaked

One mobile company which is even behind Symbian in terms of boring UI is Blackberry and no one can blame RIM for that as Blackberry has evolved as a phone used my Corporate Executives and Businessmen and women who might appreciate simplicity in the dated Blackberry UI.  But looks like all of this is gonna totally change with the upcoming Blackberry Version 6.0 OS which is currently under development. Nokia 5800 gets firmware update to v50 – changelog + video

There is a new firmware update available for the Nokia 5800 -v50.0.005. This phone received a major firmware update earlier this year with the v40 firmware which brought kinetic scrolling and other improvements. Now this update brings Kinetic scrolling to the Menu .
