HUAWEI to invest $1 billion into electric vehicles and self-driving technology

 Just as Xiaomi announced their entry into the smart electric vehicle business, HUAWEI has revealed their plans to invest $1 billion into the research and development of EV and self-driving technologies. To achieve the goal of entering this market space, the company will be partnering with 3 automakers in China, who will release cars under the HUAWEI name as a sub-brand.

After rumours, Samsung has announced Galaxy Quantum 2 (SM-A826S) in partnership with SK Telecom in South Korea. This is the successor to last year’s Galaxy A Quantum which was introduced as the world’s first 5G smartphone with quantum random number generation (QRNG) chipset. Even this has a QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) chipset with the world’s smallest size (2.5 mm wide x 2.5 mm long) like its predecessor. Last week realme confirmed that the realme 8 series 5G smartphones will be launched in Thailand on April 21st. The phones are rumoured to launch in India on April 22nd. Microsoft bets big on healthcare; buys AI speech tech company Nuance for $19.7 Billion

In the latest development, Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Nuance Communications, in an all-cash transaction valued at $19.7 billion, inclusive of net debt. As a part of the deal, the Redmond tech giant will pay $56 per share for Nuance, a 23% premium over the closing price of Nuance on Friday, April 9. NVIDIA has unveiled their first data center-focused CPU called “Grace”, named after Grace Hopper, who was a pioneer in Computer-programming from the U.S. This ARM-based CPU/SoC is designed for large-scale neural network workloads and is expected to become available to customers sometime in 2023.
