Samsung Galaxy A82 5G / Galaxy A Quantum 2 with FHD+ display, 6GB RAM, Android 11 surface

We already know that Samsung is working on the Galaxy A82 (SM-A826S) smartphone. Now the press image of the Galaxy Quantum 2 has surfaced in Google Play Console, which is said to be a version of the Galaxy A82. This reveals that the phone will come with 6GB of RAM, run Android 11 and also reveals a Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) display, which should be an AMOLED screen. The Galaxy A80 had a rotating camera, but the A82 will not come with one.

It will be powered by Snapdragon 855+ SoC clocked up to 2.96GHz, according to the listing. The Galaxy A Quantum was a version of Galaxy A71 5G powered by Exynos 980 SoC. Looks like Samsung is going with an old 855+ SoC with X50 5G modem separately for this phone.

Earlier rumours revealed that the phone will feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor for the main rear camera and the Bluetooth SIG listing revealed Bluetooth 5.0 support. The Quantum version of the phone in Korea should come with QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) chip for enhanced security.

We can expect the Galaxy A82 / Galaxy A Quantum 2 to be introduced sometime in Q2 or Q3 2021.
