ZTE just announced its Axon 30 smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.92-inch Ful HD+ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and supports 10-bit color depth and 1.07 billion colours. It is the first smartphone across the globe to be authorized with the three authoritative eye protection certifications, covering TUV, SGS and UL. The screen can effectively reduce blue light radiation, protect eyesight, and support DC dimming to reduce visual fatigue caused by screen flicker. OPPO just announced OPPO Watch 2, successor to last year’s OPPO Watch in China, as it had promised. It comes in 46mm and 42mm versions, both with 3D curved AMOLED screen. The quick release strap from the predecessor has been replaced with a buckle-type strap, and there is also a calf skin leather version. It comes with support for 4G and native calling, thanks to speakers and microphone. All these feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS and NFC support for payment. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has confirmed the launch of the first RedmiBook laptop in India on August 3rd. Xiaomi launched its first Mi Notebook laptop, the Mi Notebook 14 in India, back in June last year. Even though the company had filed RedmiBook trademark in India in January 2020, it took over a year for the company to launch a RedmiBook device in the country. Over the last few years, Intel’s decline in the consumer processor space has become very obvious, which likely led to the change in the leadership, including the hiring of their new CEO Pat Gelsinger.
