Qualcomm unveils 2 new Dual-core 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 chipsets

Qualcomm has announced 2 new Dual-core 1 GHz chipsets in the Snapdragon S4 family. They announced 8 new Snapdragon S4 chips last month in addition to 3 chips that were announced previously. The new Qualcomm MSM8625 and the MSM8225 chips would come with Qualcomm’s Adreno 203 GPU and an integrated 3G modem. These are compatible with MSM7x27A and MSM7x25A family of chipsets that would let existing Snapdragon S1-based designs seamlessly migrate to S4 dual core-based designs. Hands on with new Twitter for iPhone

As part of a massive redesign effort , Twitter today unveiled new apps for iOS , Android alongside an improved web interface. The version 4.0 update for the iPhone is a huge change with a slick design, soothing graphics, more features and a whole lot of performance improvements. It has its own pros and cons. We’ll be doing a complete walk through the new app whilst comparing it with the previous (version 3.3.5) release. Unless mentioned , all images on the right are from Twitter for iOS version 4 and those on the left are from the older release.

OnLive comes to Android and iOS

Cloud gaming solution , OnLive , has finally made its way to Android and iOS. The applications for the two mobile operating systems will allow users to play their favorite console or PC game on their smartphones.

Initial reports indicate that the image quality is superior on the iOS version of the application. OnLive works by compressing and streaming the video component of the game by performing all the heavy crunching on a server in the cloud. This allows average users to play all the latest games without worrying about hardware updates. The mobile apps let users access the same games on the move and play them.

Nokia Lumia 800 software update brings performance and usability enhancements

Nokia has started rolling out new software update v1600.2479.7740.11451 for the Nokia Lumia 800 that brings performance and usability enhancements for the battery, voicemail notification and more. Nokia announced the Lumia 800 at the Nokia World this October, and this is the first update since its launch. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD (Nozomi) image surface in Hong Kong

New image of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD ( Previously known as Nozomi LT26i) has surfaced in Hong Kong which is reportedly going through carrier testing. The phone has Sony Ericsson brand name on the top and has a new Xperia UI. There is a front-facing camera on the top-right and there are 3 capacitive touch buttons for back, home and menu. Android Ice Cream Sandwich teased on Notion Ink Adam Tablet

Notion Ink has uploaded an Image of the Notion Ink Adam tablet running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). They confirmed in September that the tablet would get the Ice Cream Sandwich update and posted last month that they started building after Google launched the Android 4.0 source code. Later they said they were expecting the Android 4.0 source code in early November but due to the delay they need extra time and said the builds here have passed the ALSA issue. Motorola and Verizon Wireless has announced 2 new DROID XYBOARD tablets. They have also announced DROID RAZR in white color. BlackBerry 10 announced at DevCon Asia in Singapore

Today at BlackBerry DevCon Asia in Singapore , RIM announced it’s next major platform version- BlackBerry 10 . RIM is calling it the single , converged , next-generation BlackBerry platform. We guess its just BBX in it’s consumer / marketing form. BlackBerry 10 will be the next major BlackBerry OS update after BlackBerry 7. RIM had literally flooded the market with an army of BlackBerry 7 devices and next year we can expect BlackBerry 10 devices. More on this soon. The real reason behind the change from BBX to BlackBerry is due to a ruling by a US District Judge which prevents RIM from using the BBX brand at the conference. BlackBerry DevCon Asia Live Blog

RIM is holding its BlackBerry DevCon Asia event here in Singapore.The event was shifted from Thailand due to the recent floods in that region. The company held it’s previous DevCon in San Francicso where BBX was announced. We expect to hear more about BBX and hope to see a few new un-announced devices. We are also going to try to sit down with some RIM executives and get an idea of the mood within the company.The keynote is about to start in a few minutes and you can follow the updates from the event below
