The Windows 8 and Android running tablets have been built according to the MIL-STD-810G specification. Gionee launched the Dream D1, the company’s flagship smartphone in India last month, which we reviewed recently. Now the company has launched Gionee P1, an entry-level Android smartphone in India. It has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6515M processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera (but on the press render above it’s mentioned as 1.3MP) and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Asus India is gearing up to launch the Intel powered FonePad tablet in India . This 7 inch tablet was announced at MWC back in February and is coming to India very soon. Asus India has been teasing “a new family member” on its Facebook and Twitter pages with the image below and it clearly looks like the Fonepad from the back. Intex launched the Aqua Wonder Quadcore, successor of the Aqua Wonder today. Two new phones Aqua Glow and the Aqua Active are listed on the official Intex website. The Intex Aqua Glow has a 4.0-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display and the Aqua Active has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display Both these phones are powered by a 1 GHz Spreadtrum SC6820 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Looks like Micromax is on a roll. The Micromax Funbook Talk P360 and the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 tablets went on sale online last week, now a new 7-inch Funbook tablet, the Funbook 3G P560 is on sale from online retailer Saholic. Most of the features are similar to the Micromax Funbook 3G P600 that went on sale back in February. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but this one is powered by a 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, instead of 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8225A processor in the P600. It’s been less than a month since the Micromax A51 Blot was spotted on the official Micromax website. It is finally on sale from online retailers Saholic and Snapdeal. It has a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 832 MHz Broadcom processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. Nokia launched the Lumia 720 in India last month along with the Lumia 520. The Lumia 520 went on sale earlier this month. Online retailer Flipkart has put up the Lumia 720 for pre-order at a price tag of Rs. 18,999. It was listed on Flipkart for Rs. 18,499 on Friday, but Flipkart changed the price of the device to Rs. 18,999 yesterday. LG announced the Optimus G Pro Value Pack upgrade last month. Lava has announced the Jelly Bean update for their Android smartphone, the Iris 501 (also known as Iris N501). It was launched earlier this year for Rs. 9,999, now the phone is available for Rs. 7,999. The Iris 501 runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and company launched the Iris 502 recently for Rs. 8,499 that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, which is now available for Rs. 7,499. LinkedIn, the world’s biggest online professional-networking service has acquired Pulse, a startup Pulse, a Newsreader and mobile content distribution. It had costed LinkedIn $90 million, and they would pay 90 percent in stock and 10 percent in cash for the application, which is owned by Alphonso Labs Inc, according to Bloomberg. Micromax Funbook Talk P360 went on sale online earlier this week for Rs. 7,049. Now the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 is up for sale from online reatiler Saholic in India. Even though it has a 7-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and voice calling support through the SIM card slot, similar to the P360, it has a slightly better single-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Other features are similar including a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1 GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery. Supreme Court has ordered Bharti Airtel not to extend its 3G Intra-circle roaming services to new customers in the 7 circles, where it did not have licences for 3G spectrum, according to a report from The Economic Times. Airtel got a temporary relief earlier this week, when Supreme Court allowed them to continue their 3G intra-circle roaming till April 11th. Last month DoT had asked Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles and asked them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for illegal roaming pact with Vodafone and Idea . Delhi High Court temporarily stalled the execution of DoT’s order until the final hearing, after Airtel appealed against it.
