Just as YouTube announced that they will default to Standard definition streaming on their platform worldwide, many Indian companies in the digital content industry have announced that they will all be lowering to SD quality when content is streamed over cellular connections.
Last week Xiaomi announced the launch of its flagship Mi 10 smartphone in India on March 31st after it was introduced in China last month. Today the Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain has announced that the event will be postponed to later date due to the current situation in the country. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max smartphones in India earlier this month. The Redmi Note 9 Pro went on first sale on Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores on 17th March, and at the launch event the company said that the Note 9 Pro Max will be available from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from March 25th. Now announced that the phone will not go on sale on the promised date and will be available soon without mentioned any tentative date. Mobile operators and internet service providers are offering more data and speed as a result of this and on similar lines, recently, ACT Fibernet offered a free upgrade to 300Mbps speed and Unlimited FUP till March 31st. Now, Reliance Jio has also announced a prepaid ‘Work From Home’ plan and is offering double data for existing Jio Fiber users.
