Xolo has officially launched the Q700, the company’s second quad-core Android smartphone in the Q Core series. Xolo launched the Q800, the company’s first phone with a quad-core processor back in March. The Xolo Q700 surfaced online recently. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589W-M processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and packs a 2400 mAh battery. Sony Xperia ZR Durable phone with 4.55-inch 720p display, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor announced

Sony Mobile has announced the Xperia ZR, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the Xperia series. It has a 4.55-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2 and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. It has a 13MP camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and  a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing canera. It has IP55 and IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance and has PlayStation Mobile support. Nokia teases new Lumia phone on British TV ahead of London event

You might be aware that Nokia is hosting an event in London this week on May 14 where the Finnish handset market is expected to announce a new Lumia phone. We have been hearing a lot of rumours about the phone code-named “Catwalk” in the last few weeks. Nokia might finally make this phone official and call it the Lumia 925. The company has been teasing the new phone in a commercial aired on British television earlier today. The phone in the video looks a lot like the one spotted in the Catwalk leaks.  This device certainly must pack some impressive camera features as Nokia decided to use the words “more than your eyes can see” in the teaser. I am right now sitting at an Airport in Chennai waiting to board my flight to London to cover the Nokia event.

The iBall Andi 5L went on sale earlier this month, and the Andi 5Li appeared on the official website at the same time. Both these phones have a 5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display and powered by a dual-core 1GHz Cortex A9 processor. Lemon Aspire A1, the company’s latest Android smartphone is now available from online retailers Infibeam and Snapdeal. It has a 5.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with a stylus that fits into a slot on the back of the phone. The company is calling it E-Pen. Gionee GPad-G2 with 5.3 inch screen launched at Rs. 13,990

Indian budget Android device manufacturer, Gionee, has introduced yet another model dubbed the G Pad – G2. The G2 is the company’s 10th product over the course of three months and features a rather large 5.3 inch display. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor while the operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It was launched last month, now the phone is finally on sale. Nokia Asha 501 Overview and First Impressions

Nokia Asha 501, the company’s latest attempt at out-innovating the low end smartphone market, was launched today in New Delhi and we got some fair play time with the device. Based on the new Nokia Asha platform, the device was previously demoed by Nokia’s Peter Skillman, who led the whole effort of bringing the intuitive N9 UI to the low end. It has a 4.5-inch (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), similar to the Karbonn A12 that went on sale earlier this year, but this comes with 2G (EDGE) support. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor, has a 5-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support with dual standby. Nokia Asha 501 Hands On

Nokia’s has added some more colour to its Asha family with the new Asha 501 Phone.The new Asha phone is slotted for a price of about Rs.5600 excluding taxes. Nokia has introduced a new design and form factor with the Asha 501 – A full touch screen with no buttons at the bottom except for one back button that sits pretty, right at the bottom. We got a chance speak to Peter Skillman, VP, Mobile Phones User Experience, Design, about the Asha 501 at the launch event. Nokia Asha 501 full touch phone with swipe UI announced

Nokia Asha 501, a new full touch device with swipe UI, and part of a whole new Asha series of devices has been announced at a global press conference here, in New Delhi. In an effort to revitalize the ever important budget low end smartphone market, which is currently inundated with Android phones, Nokia has released a tiny device that, they hope, can help them gain more traction in the highly competitive market. The Asha platform with touch UI. It initially debuted with the Asha 311 and the other full touch Asha phones, now it has been rehauled with more UX elements from the N9’s Meego user interface, complete with the double tap to wake gesture and the minimalistic homescreen setup. The device sports a 3 inch QVGA screen with hardened glass and is powered by a 1 GHz processor.

Having repeatedly leaked on Twitter, one of them revealed its six colourful shells in a leak last night. The available colours, which are also replaceable shells, come in Bright Red, Lemon Yellow, Parrot Green, Ice Blue, White and Black. The device has 128 MB of internal memory and comes with a 4GB micro SD card out of the box, with options of expanding the memory upto 32 GB. It also comes in single SIM variant. Priced at $99  (~Rs. 5,347) without taxes and subsidies, it is expected to shipping in June 2013 from approximately 60 operators and distributors in more than 90 countries worldwide.

Nokia Asha 501 picture leaks out along with rumoured specs just before official announcement

While we were pondering on what Nokia has up its sleeve for tomorrow, Evleaks, the master of leaks has done it again and has leaked out the upcoming Asha device slated to be launched in New Delhi tomorrow. According to the leak, the device is known as the Nokia Asha 501, which marches into the 5-series territory currently occupied only by the Lumia in the form of 510 and 520. While the picture doesn’t say much about the device, we expect it to be in line with previous leaks from the same Evleaks. The Asha refresh is a long time coming and with an impending launch tomorrow at New Delhi, Nokia is all set to compete with the low end Android devices with a better experience squarely in aim.
