Samsung unveils LTE Advanced Tri-Band Carrier Aggregated Galaxy Note 4

Samsung has launched a new version of Galaxy Note 4 with LTE Advanced (LTE-A) Tri-Band Carrier Aggregation.  The company claims that the Galaxy Note 4 will provide a download peak speed of 300Mbps, four times faster than the speed of current 4G LTE service.

Meizu has announced Blue Charm Note, the company’s latest smartphone under new Blue Charm sub brand. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by a 1.7GHz 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek processor with eight Cortex-A53 64-bit CPUs with Mali-T760 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Flyme OS 4 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Samsung sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 69-degree wide viewing angle. Delhi High Court partially lifts Xiaomi ban in India till January 8

Xiaomi has got itself a breather as the Delhi Court has partially lifted the ban from selling smartphones in India. The Chinese smartphone maker was banned last week from importing and selling handsets in the country owing to a patent infringement Ericsson’s Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).

Xiaomi banned from importing and selling handsets in India

The Delhi High Court has given an “ex-parte”  injunction to ban Xiaomi from importing or selling phones in India, as per a latest report from SpicyIP. The Chinese smartphone maker received the order from court order for infringing on Ericsson’s Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).

YotaPhone 2 with 5-inch 1080p AMOLED and 4.7-inch e-Ink screens launched for 699 Euros

Yota Devices launched the YotaPhone 2 in Russia yesterday. It was officially launched at an event in London few hours back. Originally announced at the MWC earlier this year, the YotaPhone 2 has a a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display, is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a full-touch control on its always-on electronic paper display (EPD) on the other side. The full-touch E Paper screen offers up to 50 hours of battery life when reading on the always-on display. YotaPhone 2 launched in Russia, to go on sale in Europe this week

Yota Devices announced the YotaPhone 2 back in February at the MWC. Last month the company announced that the smartphone would be launched at an event in London on December 3rd. It launched the smartphone at an event in Russia today and it is priced at 32,990 Rubles (US$605 / 490 Euros approx). It is available for purchase from the official online store in Russia. At the event the company’s CEO confirmed to Sputnik that it will go on sale in Europe this week. It will roll out in 20 European countries this year and will go on sale in China and the rest of Asia-Pacific early 2015 with Canada and Latin America later.
