International Data Corporation (IDC) on Tuesday published quarterly shipment data for the Asia Pacific region. As per their Quarterly Mobile Tracker for Q2 2015, India itself shipped 26.5 million smartphones this quarter, which is up by 44% from the 18.4 million units for the same period last year. ZUK Z1, the first smartphone from Lenovo-backed startup ZUK has been introduced in China. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with ZUI. It has aircraft-grade aluminum metal frame. The main highlight is the reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port that would offer up to 10 times faster data transfer compared to USB 2.0. Asus is all set to join the “Make in India” initiative by starting manufacturing of smartphones in the country. The Taiwanese smartphone maker will foray into contract manufacturing for its mobile phones in India, as per a latest report from IANS.

If you haven’t heard of Turing phone yet then let us explain. It is a new smartphone that the makers claim to be ‘unhackable’. The smartphone has been shown-off at a few trade shows so it is more than just vaporware now and the company has now started accepting reservations for the smartphone.
Sony already announced the XPERIA C5 Ultra and the XPERIA M5 earlier today but apparently there will an event in Berlin, a few days prior to IFA which is from 4th to 9th September. So it seems that Sony might be readying another smartphone which is most likely to the the XPERIA Z5 which was teased in a James Bond promo last month.
ES File Explorer is a nice and reliable file manager for Android but its interface was something that not many people liked. However the new update to v4.0 brings about the Material Design UI to the application.
