The research firm IDC has updated its forecast about worldwide smartphone growth as it is now expected to grow just 10.4% in 2015 as compared to the original forecast of YoY growth of 11.3%.

ARCHOS has announced its IFA lineup that includes Diamond S and 50e Helium smartphones running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and the 50 Cesium running on Windows 10. The ARCHOS Diamond S has a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 Octa-Core 64-bit processor, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The ARCHOS 50e Helium and 50 Cesium have similar specifications that includes a 5-inch HD display, Quad-Core Snapdragon 210 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Wileyfox, a new smartphone brand based in the UK has introduced Storm and Swift, its first set of smartphones running on the latest Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). The Storm has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC, while the Swift comes with 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC. ZUK, Lenovo-backed startup introduced ZUK Z1 smartphone in China last week. It recently said that the international variant of the smartphone will run on the latest Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) compared to the Chinese version that runs on ZUI based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). India shipped a total of 56.6 million handsets during the April-June, 2015 quarter, out of which 43% were smartphones. The smartphone market grew 24.8% during the same period.
