New PRADA Phone by LG coming in 2012

Luxury goods maker PRADA has extended it’s partnership with handset maker LG for its next version of it’s luxury phone which is expected to arrive in 2012. The two companies have been working together since 2006 and the partnership saw 2 new luxury handsets being launched under the PRADA brand. The PRADA by LG 1.0 sold over 1 million units and I’m sure the duo are looking forward to repeat history.Pic from the “signing ceremony below”. Seems like brand logos and representatives got swapped or is that the norm ?

Sony Ericsson teams up with Umbro to create a real life football game

Motorola RAZR is the first Android Phone to use a microSIM card

When I was expecting the Motorola RAZR to arrive today , I had a question in my mind. Does this phone use a microSIM card. The Motorola DROID RAZR for Verizon uses the smaller SIM card but there was no mention about it in the Europe / Asia product pages. To my surprise when I opened the box earlier today, I noticed that the RAZR had a flap which covered the microSIM card slot and the microSD memory card slot. Motorola RAZR XT910 Unboxing Pics !

Remember the good old Motorola RAZR ? Now the Moto RAZR is back in a sexy new avatar in the form of a incredible Android phone.The Motorola RAZR XT910 was officially launched in India only yesterday and here we have some unboxing pics of this beautiful device and a video is processing as we speak.The device comes in pretty small square box with a touch of red to it. The RAZR XT910 is the GSM variant of the Motorola DROID RAZR which was launched on Verizon in the US. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor and packs 1 GB of RAM. The display is a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Advanced display. It packs a 8MP camera which is capable of full HD 1080p recording. The handset is incredible thin at just 7.1 mm except in the top. Airtel Apple iPhone 4S Pricing 16GB – Rs.44500, 32GB – Rs.50900, 64GB – Rs.57500

While we got some news about the Apple iPhone 4S pricing from Aircel , we now have the pricing from Airtel. Its not looking very different.The 16GB model is about Rs.400 lesser than on Aircel and priced at Rs.44500.There is a 64GB option at Rs.57500. The 32GB model is priced exactly the same at Rs.50900. Looks like Airtel is taking pre-bookings online . Apple does not directly sell iPhones in India and operators actually procure them and sell it here. The iPhone 4 pricing at Rs.34500 was actually pretty decent. But the iPhone 4S pricing seems very high. There is also news that the iPhone 4 8GB version will cost Rs.37900 and the 3GS will cost Rs.20900. That looks like an increase in the cost of the iPhone 4 as well. Huawei has launched their MediaPad Honeycomb tablet and Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3, Android phones with Cloud+ online storage. The Huawei Cloud+ service offers 16GB Cloud disk for storage and lets you share texts, pictures, videos and voice notes, Phone Finder to locate, back-up and lock, Cloud Gallery to easier viewing and sharing. It also has Huawei App Store for popular Indian and global apps and option to Sync Data and Over the air(OTA)OS upgrade. Nokia Asha Phones

Back at Nokia World last month , the company launched the Asha range of phones which means hope in Hindi. The company is calling it an ‘aspirational’ range of phones for the next billion. 4 new phones were launched under this banner – 200 , 201 , 300 and 303 . 3 of these phones will be shipping in 2011 and 1 in early next year. Looks like Nokia is trying to make a comeback in the low-end category which is now dominated by the likes of Micromax, Karbonn, Spice and similar vendors.

Unlocked Apple iPhone 4S now shipping from Apple Store in the US

When Apple launched the Apple iPhone 4S last month , it also announced it’s plans to sell factory unlocked versions in November which could be purchased without the need for a contract. Today , the Apple Store in the US is taking orders for the Unlocked iPhone 4S which starts at US$ 649 for the 16GB , $749 for the 32GB and $849 for the 64GB. Just a reminder that most states in the US charge a sales tax so the final price at the time of check out might be slightly higher. Airtel launching iPhone 4S in India soon

Like Aircel , Airtel India has also announced on it’s Facebook page about it’s plans to launch the Apple iPhone 4S in India soon. As of now only Airtel and Aircel are the official operators authorized by Apple to sell the iPhone 4 in India. So this news is not very surprising. But then for those of you who have been waiting for the iPhone 4S to launch in India, good news ! We are not sure if Apple will get the pricing right though !

The mysterious story of the Apple iPhone 4S not working in India

If you are one amongst consumers who had purchased the iPhone 4S from outside India and were facing issues getting it to work here , good news for you. Many users including me were seeing no signal bars on the iPhone 4S in India. Calls and SMS were not working.Surprisingly 3G data was working fine on most operators including Airtel , Vodafone and BSNL. I had tried using some international SIM cards such as AT&T, T-Mobile , O2 UK, 3 UK, SmarTone (HK).
