Nokia Lumia 800 goes on sale in India gets Unboxed

When Nokia announced it’s first Windows Phone at Nokia World couple of months back at London , I seriously did not expect the Nokia Lumia 800 to go on sale in India till 2012. But Nokia India just sold the first set of Lumia 800s to customers who had pre-booked the device at Ambience Mall in Gurgaon near New Delhi last night at 10 p.m. Customers had to pay Rs.29999 for the device.Nokia had roped in Tennis star Sania Mirza to hand over the devices to the customers. One FoneArena reader was amongst the first few who purchased the device and shared the photos from the event and unboxed it for us. Find the pics below.

Nokia has managed to get the device in the hands of the consumer in India in under 50 days since the global announcement. Impressive stuff ! Nokia India MD D Shivakumar acknowledged that Windows Phone was a new religion for Nokia at the company’s annual strategy summit recently. Now lets wait for the feedback on the street about the first Nokia phone running Windows !   Nokia has lost a lot of it’s smartphone market share to high-end Android phones and iPhones. Windows Phone can be a game changer for the company if it can win back that lost market share.
