The FonePad is one of the first Intel Atom Z2420  powered Android tablets to hit the market. Asus announced the FonePad at MWC 2013 this year along with the Padfone Infinity. The “FonePad” as the name suggests is a 3G tablet and phone packed into a 7 inch tablet form factor at an affordable price point. Yes there are a couple of microphones and an earpiece on the device and you can actually put the FonePad to the ear and make a phone call although we don’t know if it will look cool. The tablet comes in 2 colours – Champagne Gold and Titanium Gray. Here is a video where we unbox the Champagne Gold version of the Asus FonePad.

Xolo launched the Xolo B700 with a last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the unboxing of the device last week. Here are the benchmarks of the device. The Xolo B700 features 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color IPS display with 256 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the Xolo A700 and A800. This has a humongous 3450 mAh battery that promises up to 23 hours talk time on 2G. Let’s get into the benchmarks.

HTC Desire L with 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor announced

HTC has announced the Desire L, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor similar to the Desire P that was unveiled earlier this month. No details about the Android version. It has a 5MP auto focus camera on the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. ZeptoLab, the creators of popular game Cut the Rope has launched the Cut the Rope: Time Travel a new game in the Cut the Rope series. In this game Om Nom stumbles upon a time travel machine and is using it to go back in time and discover his roots, teaming up with his candy-chomping kin along the way. Cut the Rope was first launched in October 2010, Cut the Rope Experiments was launched for iPhone  and iPad on August 2011, which was released on Android last March. Celkon CT888 Tablet with 7-inch display, 3G and Voice calling now available for Rs. 7999

Celkon CT888, the company’s new tablet is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. Celkon launched the CT910 tablet with 3G voice calling support recently, but this has a high-resolution 7-inch display and a better processor. The Celkon CT888 has a  7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz  processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and has a VGA front-facing camera. This is cheaper than the Byond Mi-book Mi7 which has a similar display and 3G support, but the Byond tablet has a dual-core processor. Sony has started rolling out the the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia Tablet S. The Xperia Tablet S was announced in August 2012 running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Yahoo! has launched new apps today. Yahoo! Weather is a new app for iPhone that lets you view weather information and forecasts along with photos that match your location. It also has Interactive radar, satellite, heat, and wind maps. The Yahoo! Mail app has been updated to support iPad and Android tablets. The Yahoo! Mail app for iPhone was launched back in December 2012 along with an update for the Android app. The new tablet support for Mail apps adds new layout,  Full screen Reading mode and advanced options for message actions. Intex Aqua Marvel+, successor of the Aqua Marvel has surfaced on the official Intex website. The Intex Aqua Marvel+ has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbead), similar to its predecessor, but the Marvel+ has a 5-megapixels camera and the battery capacity is down to 1400 mAh from 1450 mAh. The Optimus L5 II dual (E455) is now available from online retailer Infibeam in India. It has a 4-inch (800 × 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5 MP camera with LED Flash. Idea Cellular has launched the AURUS 2, successor of the first AURUS phone that was launched last year. It has a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display similar its predecessor, but this runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1 GHz processor, instead of 800MHz processor. It has a 3.2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It is aimed at 3G users in semi-urban and rural markets. Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD, the company’s latest flagship back in January. Images of the A115 Canvas 3D surfaced earlier this month, now images of the another smartphone in the Canvas series, the Micromax A111 has appeared online. According to MMXNewscaster, the phone would feature a 5.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display with 5 point multi-touch that would also let you operate the phone with gloves. The phone would be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225Q processor and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It would come with a 8MP rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. It would also have a 3D Graphics Accelerator. This brings new features such as revamped user interface, richer stream that offers tailored updates, news, original posts from influencers, deeper personalization options with a new navigation page. This update also bring new languages including Dutch and Norwegian for the iPhone, and Turkish, Dutch and Norwegian for Android. Outlook app for Android updated with new UI and features

Microsoft has updated the Outlook.com application for Android with a completely new user interface and lot of new features. This is a major update since the launch of the app back in November 2012. The new update bring a simple user interface similar to the Windows 8 and the outlook.com web application. Additionally this update also adds new features including conversation threading, filters for unread and flagged mail, as well as the ability to mark messages as junk. Sony Xperia SP goes on sale in India for Rs. 25490


Sony launched the Xperia SP in India last week at an MRP of Rs. 27490. The phone is now on sale from online retailer Infibeam. The Sony Xperia SP was announced last month and packs a 4.6-inch 720p HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960Pro processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor and a VGA front-facing camera. It also comes with pre-loaded Sony Music music streaming app that would offer 6 months unlimited music streaming and the Sony LIV video streaming app that would let you watch over 77 Sony TV shows. Amazon Android App Store coming to 200 countries including India

Amazon has announced that they would expand their App Store for Android to more than 200 countries including India, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Papua New Guinea, Vatican City and more. Amazon is asking the international developers to submit their apps through the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Portal, and these apps would be available when the Amazon App Store for Android launches internationally. The Amazon app store for Android was first launched in the U.S back in 2011. The Android app was updated to support ICS devices back in January 2012.
