Micromax A115 Canvas 3D that leaked earlier this month has gone official. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, similar to the A116 Canvas HD. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. This is the first 3D smartphone from Micromax that doesn’t require 3D glasses to watch 3D content. Samsung Galaxy Note 510 goes on sale in India for Rs. 30900

Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 510 (GT-N51000) last week. The tablet is now available from their official eStore for Rs. 30900. The Galaxy Note 510 was  announced in India at the Samsung India Forum 2013 in Hyderabad last month. It has a 8.0-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) TFT display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It has S Pen support with Air View, S Note, S Planner, Email with hand-writing integration and more. It also comes with 3G support and voice calling. It has a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color IPS display with 256 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Spice is all set to release the Stellar Slatepad, the company’s first tablet with 3G and voice calling support in the Stellar series. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz  processor and  runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. It comes with a 3.2-megapixel auto focus rear camera and has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot that supports 3G and voice calling. Celkon CT888 Tablet that went on sale recently has similar features, but the Spice tablet runs on Android 4.1 and has a better camera. We were at the Samsung Galaxy S4 India launch event held at a pretty interesting location , the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon near Delhi. Here are some photos and a short video we put together from the launch event for your viewing pleasure.Samsung called the event “Galaxy S3 World Tour 2013 India”. The presentation was not as crazy as the unpacked event in New York but close enough with a Bollywood style dance performance with a couple of dancers coming out from the ceiling ! Samsung Galaxy Win (GT-I8552) and the Galaxy Fame (S6812) have  been priced at Rs. 18300 and Rs. 10999 and now available in India according to our friends at Mahesh Telecom. The Samsung Galaxy Win was announced earlier this month and packs a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) TFT display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The Samsung Galaxy Fame was announced earlier this year along with the Galaxy Young. Samsung Galaxy Tab Duos 7.0, Tab 8.0, Tab 11 and Nexus 11 specifications surface

Samsung’s 2013 tablet portfolio to include the Galaxy Tab Duos 7.0, the Galaxy Tab 8.0, the Galaxy Tab 11 and the Nexus 11, according to a report from Sammobile. The Galaxy Tab Duos 7.0 would be a dual SIM version of the Galaxy Tab 2  or the Galaxy Tab 3 that was announced earlier today. It is expected to feature a 7-inch (1024×600) PLS LCD display and powered by a dual-core processor. It would be the first dual SIM tablet from Samsung. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with 7-inch display, Android 4.1 announced

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab 3, successor of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that was unveiled last year. This has a similar  7-inch (1024×600) TFT LCD display, but it is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. It has a 3-megapixel fixed focus rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It would come in Wi-Fi only and 3G variants similar to the previous tablets that would also support voice calling. It also comes with better connectivity support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Benchmarks

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 8.0 at the MWC 2013 earlier this year. Samsung announced at the Samsung India Forum 2013 in Hyderabad last month that the tablet would launch in India as Galaxy Note 510. Samsung put the Note 510 for pre-order last week at a price tag of Rs. 30,990. Here we have the benchmarks of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5110), Wi-Fi variant of the tablet. Even though the tablet which we tested didn’t have 3G support, the benchmarks are likely to be similar since these are powered by a Exynos 4 Quad (4412) CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz and a Mali-400 MP4 GPU. Same had used this processor in the Galaxy Note 2 that was launched last year.

Idea Whiz with 4-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor coming soon for Rs. 7850

Idea Cellular is all set to launched a new Android Smartphone, Idea Whiz with a 4-inch WVGA display and a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The company launched the AURUS 2, successor of the first AURUS phone recently. Even though this has a larger display and a faster processor, the phone runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Android 4.1.  It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. Lenovo K900 Intel Clover Trail+ powered smartphone expected to launch in India on May 10

Lenovo K900, the first Intel Clover Trail+ powered smartphone that was unveiled at the CES 2013 would be launched in India on May 10th for a price tag of less than Rs. 25,000, according to a report from NDTV Gadgets. This is the first smartphone to be powered by a dual-core Intel Atom Clover Trail+ CPU. The ZTE GEEK with a similar processor was announced earlier this month. The Xolo X1000 that was launched last month was expected to come with the Clover Trail+ CPU, but it had a 2 GHz Intel Atom Z2480 processor. The Lenovo K900 has a  5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with at 419 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). LG has announced the Optimus GK, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the Optimus series. This has a  5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Optimus G Pro (L-04E) that went on sale in Japan earlier this month.  It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. LG Optimus F5 global roll out begins April 29 starting from France


LG unveiled the Optimus F5, an affordable LTE phone earlier this at the MWC 2013. The company has announced that the Optimus F5 would roll out globally starting from France from tomorrow. The Optimus L5 has a 4.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). Lava to launch a new tablet running Android 4.2 next month

Lava Mobiles has announced that it would launch their first tablet running on the latest Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The company launched the E-Tab XTRON, Lava’s first Android tablet running Android 4.1 back in February, which topped most of the benchmarks when compared to other 7-inch tablets.
