UC Browser for Android and Java phones have been updated to version 9.0. The new updated brings UI enhancements, offline mode and lot more new features for the Android version. The Java app brings new UI, UDisk, better audio and video playback and more. UC Browser for iPad 2.0 was released recently that brought better performance, View it Later and more. UC Browser crossed 400 million users across 150 countries recently. It hold 25% market share in India, says the company. Sony Xperia P, go and E dual Android 4.1 update starts rolling out, Xperia S, SL and ion getting it from May end

Sony Mobile has announced that they have started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update  (v 6.2.A.0.400) for the Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia E dual. Sony Xperia J got the Jelly bean update last month, and the Xperia T and Xperia V got the update earlier this year. The Sony Xperia Tablet S got the Android 4.1 update last week. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Sony Mobile has announced that the Xperia S,Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S would start receiving the Android 4.1 update from the end of May. Here is an exclusive unboxing video of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 which is coming soon to India as the Galaxy Note 510. We have the 16GB WiFi only version with us but this tablet should be coming out in a WiFi+3G fashion too in India when it launches.Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0  during MWC 2013 and showed off the Note 510 at its regional forum event in Hyderabad.It is a 8.0 inch Android  tablet running on Android 4.1.2 JellyBean and features a stylus known as S-Pen found on Samsung’s Note lineup of products. Swype for Android out of beta, now available for download from Google Play

Swype keyboard for Android finally leaves the beta tag, and is now available from Google Play Store for download for smartphones and tablets. With the release of the stable version of Swype 1.5, the Swype Beta v1.4.9 will expire on September 14, 2013. Swype keyboard for Android has living keyboard feature that builds a personal language to lean new words and it also predicts next words and Multimodal input with four input modalities on one keyboard such as letter to letter, predictive text input powered by XT9, Swype input and voice input. Fly Mobiles has launched the Fly F45s, the company’s latest Android smartphone. It has a 4.5-inch (960 × 540 pixels) qHD capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 12-megapixel auto focus camera with LED Flash that can take 80 burst shots. It also has a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby. Videocon is also expected to launch the A47 with a 4.7-inch qHD display, Android 4.1 and a 12MP camera. The Celkon A119 Signature HD that we reviewed recently has a 5-inch HD display, but most of the features are similar to the Fly F45S.

Facebook has updated the Messenger app for Android that finally brings Sticker support. Facebook app for iPhone and iPad got updated to version 6.0 last week, that brought Chat Heads and Stickers. ZTE signs patent agreement with Microsoft for Android and Chrome devices

ZTE, popular Chinese smartphone and tablet manufacturer has announced that they have signed a patent licensing agreement with Microsot that covers ZTE devices running on Android and Chrome OS Platform, according to a recent report from Reuters. Microsoft had already signed agreement with others Android OEMs such as  HTC, Samsung, LG and Acer and 15 others. Microsoft doesn’t have any deal with another popular Chinese Smartphone maker Huawei. S Mobility has launched the Mi-535 Stellar Pinnacle Pro, successor of the Mi-530 Stellar Pinnacle that was launched earlier this year. It was listed on online retailer Saholic earlier this week. It has a 5.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) IPS LCD display similar to the Mi-530, but this is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). LG Optimus G Pro likely to launch in India by June

LG announced its competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note earlier this year in the form of the Optimus G Pro which is a large screen Android phone / Phablet and one of the first phones to be powered by the Snapdragon 600 processor. LG India has confirmed to FoneArena that it will soon launch the Optimus G Pro here in India most likely by June. Looks like Videocon is all set to release  range of Android smartphones. The Videocon A47 would be the company’s flagship device that would feature a 4.7-inch (960 × 540 pixels)  5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core 1GHz processor. It would run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. The Videocon A53 and the A51 would feature a 5.3-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) and a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) touch screen displays respectively. Both these phones would be powered by a dual-core processors and run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). All these phones would come with dual SIM support. Huawei launched the Ascend Y300, the company’s latest mid-range Android smartphone in India earlier this month. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play (MSM8225) processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Emotion UI. Huawei uses this Snapdragon S4 chip in several devices including the Ascend G330D, G510 and G600, apart from the Ascend Y300. Let’s see how the device performs in the benchmark tests. It has 3G support through dongles and comes with a HDMI out that lets you connect the tablet to TVs. It is made of high quality plastic with UV paint. Salora launched the Protab and Protab HD tablets last month. It comes with range of pre-loaded apps including Facebook, King Soft, IBIBO games, IBIBO browser and social networking apps. It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Byond smartphones. The company launched the Byond PIII with a 6-inch display last year  and the Byond Phablet PII with a 5.7-inch HD display earlier this year. Zen Mobile has launched the Zen Ultrafone 701 HD, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone in India. Pre-bookings for the phone started earlier this month.  It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, full HD video recording, Panorama Shot, and Burst shot with upto 99 shots on the go. It has a 3.2 MP front-facing camera and comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. This is the company’s first high-end smartphone sin the Ultrafone category, and it is aimed at smart and tech savvy youth.
