Gionee has launched the Gionee Elife E7 mini smartphone in India today for Rs. 18999. It will also launch the Gionee Elife E7, the company’s latest flagship phone at the event. The mini version of the flagship that will sport a octa-core processor from MediaTek and will have a relatively smaller 4.7inch 720p display.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is the much awaited successor to the S Duos which was the Samsung phone to get in the mid range not long ago. It had offered pretty much similar specifications as the Galaxy S but at a far lesser price making it a good deal, although only for a short time. Mainly because a lot of local players got aggressive with the pricing and offered a lot of better deals for a similar price, not to mention Nokia’s Lumia 520, which has been a popular device at a lesser price offering more value. Aircel now offers 3G video calling benefits with select data packs
Aircel now offers video calling benefits across its 3G circles for this festive season. Aircel now offers cheaper tariffs of 1.6 paisa per second on video calls (Aircel to Aircel). The PI 29 and PI 128 data packs now offer on-net (Aircel to Aircel) video calling minutes, apart from standard data benefit . The PI 29 packs offers 10 minutes of video calling and the PI 128 packs offers 100 minutes of video calls within validity. Aircel slashed data rates on 3G packs earlier this year. These packs come with a validity of 7 days and 30 days, respectively. Cost of the pack might vary depending on the circle. Lava 3G 402+ with 4-inch display, dual-core processor launched for Rs. 6499
The Lava 3G 402+ that went on pre-order last week, has been officially launched in India. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has 3G, Dual SIM support with dual standby, 3MP rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with 4GB of internal memory and has 512MB of RAM. an upgrade from 512MB internal memory and 256MB RAM, in the Iris 402.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 earlier today at an event in Mumbai. The successor of the Galaxy Grand would be priced between Rs. 22,900 and Rs. 24,900. It is already available for pre-order from the Samsung India eStore and would go on sale in the first week of January 2014. At the launch event we got some hands-on time with the device. Samsung launched the most expected Galaxy Grand 2 in India today, at an event in Mumbai. Even though the company did not announce the final pricing of the smartphone, Manu Sharma, Director Samsung Mobiles, revealed that the device would be priced between Rs. 22900 and Rs. 24900 when it launches in January 2014. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Grand 2 in India as we reported last week, but the company did not reveal the pricing. It was unveiled last month and packs a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It is just 8.9 mm thick and weighs 163 grams. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 likely to launch in India on December 23rd
Samsung has sent us an invite for a smartphone launch on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. The invite just says “New GALAXY Smartphone Launch” without giving any hint about the smartphone. Since there are no new smartphones for Samsung to launch in India and it had already released the new Galaxy S Duos 2, it is likely to launch the Grand 2 next week. The Galaxy Grand that was launched earlier this year was one of the popular mid-range smartphone in this year. The Grand 2 with better display, faster processor more RAM and a larger battery would definitely attract more customers in the mid-range segment. Nokia Lumia 525 Hands On
Nokia announced the Lumia 525 sometime back last month and basically, it was a Lumia 520 with a very slightly different design and 1 GB of RAM. The Lumia 525 is primarily for addressing the low RAM issue on Windows Phones. Phones with 512 MB of RAM, like the Lumia 520, were not allowed to download some apps and games from the Windows Phone Store because of them demanding more resources. This was partly solved with more optimizations from the developers’ side, but we still see a lot of new apps and games releasing with the limitation, so Nokia simply went the other way and updated the 520 with 1 GB of RAM, and that’s exactly the reason why 525 exists. It was revealed at an event in Goa today that the Lumia 525 will be arriving to India during the first week of January 2014. The Lumia 520 is already the best selling Windows Phone in India and we hope the 525 directly replaces it. That said, we went hands on with the Lumia 525 at the Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa, you can find our impressions below.
