ŌURA has introduced the Oura Ring 5 in India, following its global launch earlier this year. The company describes it as the world’s smallest smart ring, and it is 40% smaller than the Oura Ring 4.
The ring uses lightweight, non-allergenic titanium with refined curvature. It has IP68 water resistance up to 100 metres, a scratch-resistant PVD coating and comes in sizes 6 to 13.

Oura Ring 5 features
The Oura Ring 5 tracks more than 50 health metrics across sleep, activity, readiness, stress, heart health and women’s health.
Sleep tracking
- Sleep Score: Assesses total sleep, heart rate variability (HRV), nighttime movement and sleep regularity to provide an overview of sleep quality.
- Sleep Stages: Tracks deep, REM and light sleep.
- Blood Oxygen Sensing: Measures nighttime blood oxygen levels and can identify possible breathing disturbances.
- Nighttime Breathing: Tracks breathing patterns and disturbances during sleep.
- Bedtime Guidance: Provides reminders to wind down based on sleep patterns.
Activity and fitness
Automatic Activity Detection recognises more than 40 activities, including cycling, basketball and housework, with heart-rate tracking. Other features include:
- Activity Score: Assesses activity levels, consistency and recovery time.
- Personalised goals: Adjust daily goals based on recovery and activity levels.
- Live workout tracking: Records pace, distance and heart rate during running, cycling and strength training.
- Workout support: Connects to third-party heart-rate monitors and improves detection of lower-motion workouts, including Pilates.
Readiness and stress
- Readiness Score: Combines temperature trends, heart rate and sleep data to assess recovery and indicate how prepared the body may be for daily activity.
- Symptom Radar: Looks for physiological changes that may indicate strain, sometimes before cold or flu symptoms appear.
- Daytime Stress: Considers activity and user-added tags to help users understand potential stress patterns.
- Resilience: Assesses how the body recovers from physiological stress over time.
Heart health
- 24/7 heart rate and HRV: Tracks heart rate around the clock and measures heart rate variability.
- Cardiovascular Age: Compares estimated cardiovascular age with chronological age.
- Cardio Capacity: Estimates VO2 max to indicate aerobic fitness.
- Blood Pressure Signals: Examines overnight blood pressure trends and dips and supports input from a blood pressure cuff.
Women’s health
Cycle Insights uses temperature trends to provide cycle information, while Period Prediction uses temperature changes to estimate periods. Oura also integrates with Natural Cycles, which the company identifies as the first FDA-cleared birth control app, as well as Flo and Clue.
Sensors and preventive health
Oura has redesigned the sensing system with low-profile sensor domes for improved skin contact, stronger LEDs and 12 enhanced signal pathways. The company says these changes improve tracking accuracy across skin tones and finger types.
Oura cites 99% heart-rate accuracy compared with ECG and 95% sleep-staging accuracy compared with a clinical sleep lab. It also says 90% of members report feeling healthier, based on a new-member Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey. These figures are company-reported claims. Battery life is rated at up to one week.
Other health features include:
- Health Radar: Monitors biometric changes that may indicate health changes before symptoms appear and analyses nighttime breathing trends over a rolling 30-day period.
- Oura Advisor: Uses AI to provide personalised guidance based on health data.
- Lab Uploads and Health Records: Let users add biomarker results and clinical information.
- GLP-1 Insights: Supports tracking of medication use and weight.
Connected care and additional features
Oura has partnered with ResMed on sleep and breathing care pathways and with Counsel Health on AI and physician-supported care. It is also involved in a Brain Health Study with Cambridge Cognition. Oura says its in-app guidance connects health insights with information that can help users make care decisions.
The optional Charging Case provides up to one month of backup battery. Other features include Locate for finding the ring or case, time-based data deletion, user-controlled data sharing and support for multiple rings, including Oura Ring 4 and Ring 5.
