HMD Global, in addition to range of smartphones and feature phones, also introduced its latest Power Earbuds at the IFA. The true wireless earbuds have IPX7 ratings for water resistance and uses Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The main highlight is the 3000mAh battery inside the portable charging case that lets you charge the 50mAh (each) battery inside earbuds up to 30 times offering 150 hours of battery life.
HMD Global just announced Nokia 7.2, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone at the IFA 2019, as expected. It has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Waterdrop PureDisplay that uses Dedicated Pixelworks visual processor to upscale video content to HDR quality in real time, with up to a billion shades of colour, higher contrast and expanded dynamic range. It also comes with high brightness and local contrast enhancement, making it easy to view content even in brighter conditions. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 660 with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie), which is upgradable to Android 10.

It has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Waterdrop PureDisplay that uses Dedicated Pixelworks visual processor to upscale video content to HDR quality in real time, with up to a billion shades of colour, higher contrast and expanded dynamic range, same as the Nokia 7.2, but this is powered by Snapdragon 636 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie), which is upgradable to Android 10.

Along with the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2, HMD Global also introduced Nokia 2720 Flip 4G phone with an external screen for notifications, similar to the Nokia 2720 fold was introduced back in 2009, Nokia 800 Tough rugged 4G phone with waterproof body and military grade durability, and an upgrade to Nokia 110, which was introduced back in 2012.

Sony Mobile just announced Xperia 5, the company’s latest smartphone at the IFA 2019, as expected. It has 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWide FHD+ HDR display offering bright colors with BRAVIA X1 for mobile. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM and runs Android Pie.
At the IFA ASUS announced the global roll out of its ROG Phone II, after it was introduced in China back in July. It has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 120Hz, 1ms response time AMOLED display with DCIP3 gamut, is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with up to 12GB of RAM. It has 3D vapor chamber that efficiently transfer heat away from the SoC and into the body while gaming and there are vents on the back. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, compared to rear-mounted fingerprint sensor in the predecessor. It has a 48-megapixel rear camera along with a 13-megapixel 125° ultra-wide camera, and a 24-megapixel camera on the front.

Lenovo has introduced new Tab M7 and Tab M8, two new tablets in the M series ahead of IFA 2019 next week. The Tab M7 has a 7-inch WSVGA screen and the Tab M8 comes in HD and Full HD options. These have built-in Kid’s Mode 3.0 that offers rich and customized kids’ content for children under 12 years of age. “Kids who pick up the tablet will be switched directly to their kids’ account, which features a child-friendly interface with access to games, built-in applications, videos, audio and books that offer educational content in 44 languages,” said the company.

LG has announced K50s and K40s smartphones in the K series ahead of IFA 2019, after the K50 and K40 were introduced at the MWC earlier this year. The IFA 2019 GPC or Global Press Conference took place in Andalusia in Spain this year. The conference attracted over 300 journalists from all over the world from 55 countries. The location was interesting because it is located at the intersection of Spain and Portugal. Here is a summary of the products and trends we saw at the event.
IFA, which is the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances is all set to take place at Berlin from 6th September to 11th September 2019. Many brands taking part in the event are expected to make new announcements. In similar lines, Qualcomm has also confirmed its keynote for IFA 2019.
