Xiaomi has announced that it will launch a new Redmi series smartphone on January 4th, 2015 in China. It will come with dual SIM support and LTE connectivity. Xiaomi has not revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone yet. It will come in a range of colors and will be available from QQ space. Meizu has announced Blue Charm Note, the company’s latest smartphone under new Blue Charm sub brand. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by a 1.7GHz 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek processor with eight Cortex-A53 64-bit CPUs with Mali-T760 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Flyme OS 4 on top. ZTE has announced Star 2, successor of the Star 1 that was launched in China earlier this year. It has the same 5-inch full HD display and runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) with MiFavor 3.0 UI. The quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor in the Star 1 is replaced by a Snapdragon 801 processor in the Star 2. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is just 6.9mm thick, has aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the back and also offers Dolby experience. In a bid to boost global expansion, Xiaomi is migrating international user data outside of China. Data belonging to the privately owned company’s non-Chinese users will be moved in several phases to Amazon Inc servers in the United States and data centres in Singapore.
