Earlier: Diwali festival is around the corner and many e-commerce sites including Flipkart, Amazon has announced offers, discounts on various smartphones, electronics, etc. On similar lines, Xiaomi has now announced its ‘Diwali with Mi’ sale and it is scheduled from September 28th to October 4th 2019. In addition to Mi 9 Pro 5G, Xiaomi also introduced the Mi MIX Alpha concept smartphone with an innovative Surround Screen with a screen-to-body ratio of more than 180.6%. It is also the world’s first smartphone to sport a 108MP camera. It uses durable protective layer which optimizes the screen stack structure. The phone has minimal bezels on the top and bottom, and ditches the physical side buttons, instead it relies on display acoustic technology replacing the traditional earpiece receiver and proximity sensor while the device’s sides are pressure-sensitive and leverage a linear motor to simulate the touch of real buttons. It has anti-false-touch technology that deactivates the non-active area, allowing dynamic allocation of touch commands.
At an event in China, Xiaomi also introduced MIUI 11, the company’s next-generation UI for its smartphone that brings brand new optimized modern UI design focused on content viewing. At the forefront of typography innovation, MIUI 11 revamps Xiaomi’s visual design by offering a brand-new font, ‘Milan Pro’, and introduces the world’s first dynamic font scaling feature. Xiaomi just announced the Mi 9 Pro 5G, the company’s latest flagship smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 90.7% screen to body ratio since it has 3.6mm small chin, same as the Mi 9, but this is is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus 7nm Mobile Platform with Snapdragon X50 5G modem and support for 7-antenna 5G bands for improved signal reception. The phone features download speed of up to 2.02Gbps (lab) and 1.78Gbps (field test), is 10 times faster than Mi 9, says the company. It also has special, customized L shaped vapor chamber cooling system, compared to the Mi 9, so the processor’s core temperature can be reduced by 10.2 °C. It has up to 12GB of RAM and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI on top.
Xiaomi just announced its Mi Full Screen TV Pro series in 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch 4K TV range at an event in China. These have new Amologic 12nm T972 chip jointly developed by Xiaomi and Amlogic, has quad-core A55 processor architecture with up to 1.9GHz clock speed that promises 63% better performance and up to 55% improved power efficiency. This also enables support for 8K video playback, thanks to 9th generation image processing engine. These have narrow bezel full screen design with up to 97% screen-to-body ratio, aluminum alloy frame, metal base and 3D kevlar back design.

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched its flagship Redmi K20 Pro smartphone back in July. The company launched two storage variants of K20 Pro – 6GB+128GB priced at Rs. 27,999 and 8+256GB priced at Rs. 30,999. Now, for the Flipkart Big Billion Day Sale 2019, Redmi K20 Pro receives a temporary price cut and alongside the K20 Pro, Redmi Note 7S also receives a temporary price cut.
Xiaomi already confirmed that it will introduce new Mi MIX 5G concept phone on September 24th along with Mi 9 Pro 5G. Today Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared an image of the Mi MIX Alpha with a curved screen with high screen-to-body ratio. He also confirmed that it is not the foldable phone that was showcased earlier this year, and other teaser confirmed this.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India back in February running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie) and even after 6 months of launch, it is one of the most popular smartphones in the market. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today introduced new K20 Pro Premium Edition with a faster Snapdragon 855 Plus Mobile Platform, up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, as it had promised. There is also a new Cool black color, in addition to White, Blue, Red and Carbon Black, but it will be available only mid-October. Other specifications are similar to the original K20 Pro. The company did not mention if it’s UFS 3.0, so it will likely be UFS 2.1.
It has just been two months since Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7A smartphone in India, now the company has announced that it will launch the Redmi 8A smartphone in the country on September 25th on Flipkart. India should be one of the first countries to get the phone. The teaser confirms a notch display, unlike the 18:9 screen on the 7A.
Update: September 18, 2019 – Redmi has confirmed 12GB RAM and 512GB storage for the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition.
