At the Redmi Note 7 launch event last month Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro soon with Sony IMX586 sensor replacing the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor on the Redmi Note 7. Recent reports revealed that it will be powered by Snapdragon 675, compared to Snapdragon 660 on the Redmi Note 7. Today Redmi President Lu Weibing has confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be announced next week without mentioning the exact date.
Update – February 20, 2019: Xiaomi has opened registrations for global beta testing of Android Pie for Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro and Redmi S2 (Y2) smartphones on its forum. Registration is open till March 15th (Beijing Time) and ROM will roll out staring March 19th so we can expect open beta starting March-end or early April.
Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 smartphone in India on February 28th, even Flipkart has started teasing the phone. It opened registrations to buy tickets for the event on the same day, but it sold out quickly. Today it has opened the 2nd round of registrations on mi.com. The ticket costs Rs. 480, and the company says that it will offer goodies worth Rs. 1500 for all the attendees.

Along with the Mi 9, Xiaomi also introduced the Mi 9 SE, successor of last year’s Mi 8 SE in China. It has a 5.97-inch Full HD+ Samsung AMOLED display with 90.4% screen-to-body ratio. It is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 712 SoC. Xiaomi just announced the Mi 9, the company’s latest flagship smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 90.7% screen to body ratio since it has 3.6mm small chin, making it 40% narrower than the Mi 8. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Game Turbo with real-time CPU/GPU/FPS monitoring, up to 8GB of RAM and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 on top.

Update – February 15, 2019: Xiaomi CEO has shared new images of the Mi 9 in purple color that that offers unique color since it uses nano-level laser engraving holographic technology and dual layer nano coating.
After teasing the Redmi Note 7 launch in India few weeks back, Xiaomi has confirmed that the smartphone will launch in the country on February 28th. Xiaomi said that it will open registrations to buy tickets for the event later today.

Earlier today Xiaomi confirmed that it will introduce its flagship Mi 9 smartphone at an event in China on February 20th. It also sent out invites for its MWC 2019 event in February 24th in Barcelona on February 24th. It was expected to introduce Mi Mix 3 5G at the event, now the company has posted a new teaser on Twitter hinting at Mi 9 with triple rear cameras at MWC.
Update – February 13, 2019: Xiaomi has sent out invites for the February 24 event and has also teased it on social channels. The event starts at 10:30 AM CET (3PM IST). The invite doesn’t give any hint on what to expect. Earlier rumors revealed that the company will launch the Mi MIX 3 5G. It will also likely showcase the Mi 9 after it goes official February 20th.

After teasers, Xiaomi has launched its Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p in India. As the name suggests, it has 1080p full HD video recording, at up to 20fps, has 130° ultra-wide angle lens that covers more of the room and effectively reduces blind spots, has advanced Al motion detection, comes with Infrared night vision with 10m infrared range, zoning classification and two-way voice communication.
