Recently we informed you that Samsung has managed to sell 3 million units of the Galaxy Note II within just over a month of it’s release. Now Samsung has announced that it has also managed to sell over 30 million units of the Galaxy S III.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sales cross 3 million units

Samsung has announced that they have sold over 3 million units of Galaxy Note 2 globally. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note II at IFA in August and launched it in South Korea and India at the end of September. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs Galaxy S3 Compared on Video

Here is a comparison between the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy Note 2 was launched in India this September and comes with a 5.5-inch (1,280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor. The Galaxy S3 was launched was launched in India in May and comes with a 4.8 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display and a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Exynos processor. Both these phones have a similar design and Nature UX. The Note 2 runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), while the Galaxy S3 runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Jelly Bean update expected to roll out in India very soon .

Samsung Galaxy Premier with 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display, Android 4.1 announced

Samsung has announced Galaxy Premier their new Android phone in the Galaxy series. This comes with a 4.65-inch (720 x 1280 pixels)HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It would have Samsung’s unique features such as S Beam, Buddy photo share, AllShare Cast, AllShare Play, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Social Tag, Pop-up play, Best Photo and S Voice. Nexus 10 leaks, runs Android 4.2 on a 2500 x 1600 10.1″ screen

Google is widely expected to launch a second larger tablet at its upcoming Android centric event to provide a higher end offering alongside its current Nexus 7. The Nexus 10 was today leaked by BriefMobile and as expected, runs Android 4.2 on Samsung manufactured hardware. The screen is a 10.1″ unit with a resolution of 2500×1600. This results in a ppi of 298.9 which is most definitely higher than that on the iPad’s retina display.

Samsung reports profit of $7.4 billion for Q3 2012


Samsung has reported operating profit of 8.12 trillion won ($7.4 billion) for the third quarter of 2012. That’s a 91% year-on-year increase . The net profit was 6.56 trillion won. The Mobile unit accounted for more than 50% of revenue with 26.25 trillion in this quarter, 82% increase year-on-year. The increase in profit in this segment is due to the increase in Smartphone shipments significantly due to global expansion of Galaxy S 3 and and mid or low-end products in competitive price points. IDC: Samsung, Apple top Smartphone vendors in Q3 2012, Nokia not in top 5


Samsung and Apple are the leading Smartphone vendors based on shipments, once again in the Q3 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). Nokia loses its place in the top 5 list, while RIM enters the top 5 spot by replacing Nokia’s 3rd spot. The worldwide smartphone market saw 45.3% year-over-year growth in Q3 2012 with 179.7 million unit shipments, compared to 123.7 million units in Q3 2011. Samsung begins mass producing wireless charging components

Wireless charging is something that mobile phone makers have been trying to popularize for years. Palm tried it with the Pre back in 2009, and now Nokia is going to try it next month with the Lumia 920. What sort of problems come with making devices able to charge without wires? The most obvious issue is the high cost of the chargers themselves. Nokia’s Lumia 920, despite supporting wireless charging out of the box, is going to come with a wired charger in the retail packaging. Videos: Samsung’s new Galaxy S III ads promote NFC and the phone’s large screen

Samsung’s Galaxy S III is arguably the best Android phone on the market right now. Some of you might disagree and say the Note II deserves to wear that crown, but whatever, either way Samsung is dominating. The South Korean handset vendor has just uploaded three new 30 second ads to YouTube that demo some of the GS3’s features. In the first video, dubbed “Game On”, an iPhone user and a GS3 user are sitting together on a bench playing a game. The iPhone owner is struggling because his screen makes it difficult to control the videogame. The GS3 owner on the other hand … you get the idea. Dutch court rules in Samsung’s favor regarding Apple’s multitouch patents

According to a breaking news report from Reuters, Samsung just won a court case in the Netherlands regarding multitouch patents that Apple says were being violated. Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 announced

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S3 mini that surfaced yesterday. It has a 4.0-inch (480×800 pixels ) Super AMOLED display  and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, 720p video recording at the back and a VGA front-facing camera. The design of the phone and some of the features are similar to the Galaxy S Duos that was announced in August. It also has some of the unique features that were present in the Galaxy S3 including S Voice, Smart Stay, Direct Call, S Beam and Buddy photo share. Samsung acknowledges Exynos documentation issue, working on a fix

Samsung devices are built with one of the most powerful hardware and the Exynos processor manufactured by Samsung themselves is one of them. But from quite sometime now Exynos powered devices are having problems with developers due to the lack of documentation. Samsung has acknowledged this issue and has tweeted to confirm that they are working with the Exynos team to fix this.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini specifications and image leaked

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S3 mini in an event tomorrow in Germany but MobileGeeks have managed to get hold of the specifications and product images before hand. As expected, the S3 Mini is a miniaturized version of the flagship Galaxy S3 with a smaller 4″ screen and unfortunately, much scaled down specs.
