Just after the news about MediaTek prepping its entry level quad-core chips, the largest SoC maker in the world Qualcomm announced its new entry level quad-core entries into the ever competitive SoC market. And these new chips are added to the Snapdragon S4 play family of SoCs. The specs race gets way interesting after this announcement.

We already know that a new LG smartphone powered by the Qualcomm S4 Pro Quad-core chip is coming soon. LG even teased about it’s upcoming phone in a video. Earlier today LG has confirmed through a press release that LG Electronics and it’s sister companies LG Chem( Battery ) , LG Display (Display ) and LG Innotek (Touchscreen) are collaborating for the company’s next gen Smartphone. LG says that the upcoming smartphone will feature each company’s best technology.

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) . And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU.
