Qualcomm introduced Snapdragon 820 at the MWC earlier this year. At that time it confirmed that it will use custom 64-bit CPU architecture in their own ARMv8-based Qualcomm Kryo CPU and also said that it will be based on FinFET process node. Later it confirmed Adreno 530 GPU for the chip and also said that it will offer 40% graphics performance, compute capabilities, and power usage compared to Adreno 430. Qualcomm has issued a statement denying that the rumors stating that the Snapdragon 820 has over-heating issues is false. The Snapdragon 810 from Qualcomm did face over-heating which in turn gave rise to quite a few problems on the initial few devices that it ran on such as the LG G Flex 2 and HTC One M9.

Qualcomm Technologies has announced new milestones for its Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors. Within the first year of its commercial launch, the Snapdragon 410 processor is now available in more than 550 mobile device designs while 210 processor has been included in more than 200 designs.

Qualcomm just announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next-generation fast charging technology. It will be 4X faster than conventional charging, twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, said the company. It will help improve fast charging up to 27% or reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when compared to Quick Charge 2.0. It is also 100% backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices and supports a broad range of connectors.
