Qualcomm Technologies has announced new milestones for its Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors. Within the first year of its commercial launch, the Snapdragon 410 processor is now available in more than 550 mobile device designs while 210 processor has been included in more than 200 designs.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 announced, 4 times faster than conventional charging
Qualcomm just announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next-generation fast charging technology. It will be 4X faster than conventional charging, twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, said the company. It will help improve fast charging up to 27% or reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when compared to Quick Charge 2.0. It is also 100% backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices and supports a broad range of connectors. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to feature new X12 LTE modem supporting 600Mbps download speeds
Qualcomm has announced the upcoming X12 LTE modem that will be part of the new Snapdragon 820 processor. Devices based on the newly announced Snapdragon 820 processor are expected to be part of flagship smartphones shipping in first half of 2016. The company made this and a number of other important announcements at the ongoing Qualcomm 3G / LTE summit here in Hong Kong.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 and Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core SoCs with LTE announced
Qualcomm just announced Snapdragon 617 and 430 chipsets in their Snapdragon 600 and 400 lineup. Both these chips have LTE support,including Global Mode RF360 support. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 is an Octa-Core chip with 8 ARM Cortex A53 and CPUs clocked at 1.5GHz per core and packs Adreno 405 GPU. The Snapdragon 430 is an Octa-Core chip with 8 ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPUs clocked at 1.2GHz per core and packs Adreno 505 GPU. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to support Smart Protect – Real-time, on-device anti-malware technology
Qualcomm Technologies just announced Snapdragon Smart Protect, anti-malware technology that will be supported by upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Smart Protect will provide real-time, on-device detection of unknown (zero-day) malware threats. It uses advanced machine learning-based behavioral analysis to look at actual behavior of device applications in real time and almost instantly detect and classify any application behavior that is considered suspicious or anomalous, said the company.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core 64-bit SoC with LTE announced
Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 616 processor with 4G LTE support in their Snapdragon 600 lineup. It is the successor of the Snapdragon 615 SoC that was introduced last year. This has the same Quad-core ARM Cortex A53 + Quad-core ARM Cortex A53 arrangement, but the second set of Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.2GHz per core, compared to 1GHz in the Snapdragon 615 processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 and Snapdragon 412 quad-core processors announced
Qualcomm has announced two new processors, one in the Snapdragon 200 series and other in the Snapdragon 400 series. The new Snapdragon 212 SoC, the company’s latest quad-core processor has multi-mode 3G/4G LTE Advanced and LTE Dual SIM aimed at entry-level smartphones and tablets. It uses the same ARM Cortex A7 CPU seen on the Snapdragon 210, but the clock speed has been increased from 1.1 GHz to 1.3 GHz per core. The Snapdragon 412 quad-core processor uses 64-bit Cortex A53 CPUs similar to the Snapdragon 410, but the clock speed has been increased from 1.2 GHz to 1.4 GHz per core and the memory bandwidth has been increased from 533 MHz to 600 MHz. Qualcomm to slash 15% workforce, outlines restructuring plan
Qualcomm has announced that it reported $1.2 billion in net income during the third fiscal quarter of 2015, down from $2.2 billion a year ago. The company also said that it is reducing its workforce by 15%.
