Logitech Revue Google TV 3.1 Honeycomb update rolling out now , brings Android Market

Yes that’s Android market running on the TV. The big Google TV Android 3.1 update is finally rolling out to Logitech Revue units via an OTA update. The Revue retails for $99 and there was some confusion if Google and Logitech will release an update for this device. Now the update is finally rolling out including the Revue unit in the FoneArena Labs. Currents is the latest application out of Google for Android devices, iPads and iPhones that lets you explore online magazines and other content with the swipe of a finger.

Android Market clocks 10 billion app downloads, offers premium apps at $0.10

Google has announced that Android market has exceeded 10 billion app downloads. They have also posted a graph that shows the Android Market Growth. The Android Market saw 1 billion downloads in July 2010 and reached 6 billion in a year in July 2011. To celebrate this milestone they offer premium apps every day for the next 10 days at $0.10 each.

Galaxy Nexus volume bug fix rolling out via OTA update


The Samsung Galaxy Neus volume bug is getting fixed through an Over the Air (OTA) firmware update that is rolling out in UK. Some of the Galaxy Nexus owners have been facing volume bug that mutes their device automatically and then becomes unresponsive while keeping their phone in 2G mode. Google has already said that they are working on an update to fix this issue. Clove UK has confirmed through their UK distributors that the update had already been completed on the new stocks and would be available very soon for new and existing customers. Google Maps for Android v6.0 update brings indoor Maps

Google Maps for Android has been updated to version 6.0 that brings indoor Maps that lets you determine where you are, what floor you’re on, and where to go indoors and more. It also includes detailed floor plans that automatically appear when you’re viewing the map and zoomed-in on a building where indoor map data is available. It also has a new drop-down menu for the top toolbar for easy switching between common features and updated home screen for places. Samsung Galaxy Nexus Unboxing Video

The Galaxy Nexus is world’s first phone to run on Android 4.0 which is also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Google and Samsung unveiled the device in Hong Kong last month and the device went on sale in few markets earlier this month. The handset is priced at around 429 pounds in the UK.The box is unusually long and has the picture of the device  on the front and sides.A very simplistic design with subtle marketing material. No mention even of the specs on the outside.The unit we got was a Titanium Silver color. The device boasts of a 4.65 inch SuperAMOLED display with a 720p resolution.It is powered by a 1.2 GHz CPU and packs 16GB of inbuilt storage without an expansion slot. There is a 5MP camera on the back and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Google to come out with a fix for the Galaxy Nexus Volume bug

We have been hearing about the Galaxy Nexus volume bug from the the day it was launched in U.K. It has been covered by every blog and news portal out there, and the users have been reporting and are unhappy about it. There have also been reports that this bug has something to do with 2G and happens only when 2G is kept on. Many people also thought that this was a hardware bug and the device has to be replaced, but now Google has finally acknowledged and responded to this volume bug.

Gmail app for iPhone and iPad now available, this time without bugs

Google launched their Gmail app for iPhone earlier this month, but removed it soon since it had notification bug that displayed an error message. Now they have updated the app to version 1.0.2 in the App Store. This Gmail app has some unique features such as labels, reporting spam, threads and lots more that the native iOS app does not have. Google Music Android Event Live Blog

Google is holding an event in Los Angeles today and is expected to announce something connected to Google Music and Android. We have been hearing rumors that Google has been in talks with various record labels for Google Music which debuted at Google IO earlier this year.(currently in beta and available only in the US). Will Google come up with a answer to iTunes , Spotify ?  We should find out soon. We should definitely expect to  see a complete version of the Google Music App for Android too. . iOS developers noted to make more profit from app sales than Google makes from its mobile business

Adhering to Google’s third-quarter earnings report in the previous week, David Barnard, founder of App Cubby, established an intriguing observation on his company’s blog, Google declared a run rate of $2.5 billion for its cellular ad revenue based on third-quarter earnings, up from $1 billion a year previously.
