BlackBerry Storm2 Review Part 3: BlackBerry Messenger, Music, Camera and Accessories

The BlackBerry 9520 aka Storm2 has been tested on various parameters and we have told you what we think of the device. Now in this last part of the review, we try to wrap up all the loose ends and give you our final verdict on the Storm2. Let’s start by looking at the BlackBerry Messenger, a feature unique to the BlackBerry devices. The BBM as it is referred to be a unique chat feature built into the BlackBerry, there is no need to elaborate how it works so I’ll skip that bit. Adobe Flash 10.1 for Mobiles Launched

Adobe has announced the launch of Adobe Flash 10.1.

To be available shortly, Adobe said that they have completely redesigned Flash 10.1 from the ground up and it now supports multi-touch operations, smart zooming, and accelerometer-aided device rotation and it has been optimized to work with “all major chip and mobile platforms” which means we could expect some improved CPU, battery, and power consumption management. Motorola and Blackberry maker RIM end litigation war, enter into agreement

Patent wars are bad for companies and users. It’s good only for those trying to take advantage of the loop holes in the system. In a surprising move Motorola and Blackberry maker RIM have entered into a agreement that ends all outstanding worldwide litigation between the two companies. Moto had sued RIM over patents last year. The agreement will involve sharing of patents between the two companies. Peace !  But we are still waiting to hear something about the Apple – Nokia legal battle !

Blackberry Pearl 9100 and 9105 launched in India

Today in a event in Mumbai ,  Research in Motion – RIM launched the Blackberry Pearl 3G in two models 9100 and 9105 in India.The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 features a 20-key condensed QWERTY keyboard and the BlackBerry Pearl 9105 features a 14-key traditional phone keyboard. Both the models include SureType which is T9 equivalent in BB world. Surprisingly no price has been announced but we are guessing it to be around the Rs.16-20000 mark.

Blackberry Pearl 3G aka 9100 coming to India soon

UPDATE: Both 9100 and 9105 have been launched in Mumbai

We are hearing the the Blackberry Pearl 3G is going to be available in India soon and the street price is estimated to be around the Rs.16000 mark. The original Pearl 8100 was a huge hit in India and across the world for RIM. Looks like they want to repeat that success with the Pearl 3G

Blackberry 8530 Curve now in India on Tata Indicom at Rs.18990

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 has been launched by RIM and Tata Indicom in India and it’s the first CDMA phone in India with an optical Track pad and built in Wi-Fi.  The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is a CDMA version of the hugely popular 8520 Curve which was available on Airtel previously.  The 8530 offers high speed internet access, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, trackpad and dedicated media keys. Video : BlackBerry Bold 9800 running BB OS 6

Blackberry OS seriously needs a revival and looks like RIM is working on making BB 6.0 pretty interesting. A video which shows the rumored BB 9800 Slider running the latest OS has been posted on Youtube  and looks like the phone is using a capacitive screen. Although the new UI looks pepped up , it still has the Blackberry roots. We also see a Cover flow for the Music player.
