Moto G5 Plus Review -7

Time and time again, the Moto G series has proven itself to be the king of the hill when it comes to high quality budget smartphones. The devices have found a lot of success and have given stiff competition to the likes of Xiaomi’s Redmi series. Asus Zenbook 3 Review

The convergence of technology has led to many beautiful innovations in terms of gadgets. While smartphones have come a long way in terms of providing almost everything that a user needs to get their work done, there are times that you still need a laptop to get things done just that much quicker and better. However, up until the introduction of the original Macbook Air, laptops were definitely a big deal to carry around. They were thick, bulky and at the end of the day could potentially give you severe backache. The Macbook Air changed all that. It showed how easy and effortless it can be to carry around a laptop. This brought about the Ultrabook era with most manufacturers pushing for thinner and lighter designs while trying to increase functionality. Despite all this, it would be difficult to say that Windows offering have been superior because they weren’t. Apple broke barriers again with the new Macbook that did everything the original Air promised to do and more in a smaller form factor which was considered to be near impossible. Since then, many manufacturers have been trying to play catch up and now with the Asus Zenbook 3, we possibly have one that can not just catch up but also lead the race. Let’s take a look at how far we’ve come with compact computing.

Sony NW-A35 Walkman Review

Sony NW-A35 Walkman -15

In 2017, a dedicated music player isn’t something that is on most people’s radar. With phones not only capable of playing back most formats but also being able to deliver high quality audio, there’s not much of a reason for most users to invest in an iPod or Walkman. There is however a subset of people who value quality audio. The kind of people who won’t settle for less than lossless audio, a clean source and a high-end pair of headphones. The Sony NW A35 Walkman is aimed at those people. Does it deliver on the performance? We find out in our review. Continue reading “Sony NW-A35 Walkman Review”

Vivo V5 Plus Review

vivo_v5_plus_review_21

The advent of self-portraits or “selfies” as they are commonly known and the ever-increasing popularity of social media has resulted in the rise of smartphones that are specifically designed to cater to this particular demographic. The primary emphasis as a result becomes the front facing camera which ironically has always been refered to as the secondary camera. Now, it may seem as if terms such as “primary” and “secondary” depend on the smartphone itself and what it tries to achieve. The issue with such smartphones usually lies with the fact that manufacturers often concentrate too much on the “selfie” aspect and ignore the rest. The Vivo V5 Plus is the latest amongst the big lineup of selfie centric smartphones in India. In this review, we shall take a look at the smartphone in detail to see whether it’s just about the front facing camera or whether they’ve managed to focus on all aspects of the smartphone as well.

Asus Zenfone 3s Max Review : All Day Power

zenfone 3s max-1

The Zenfone 3s Max marks yet another entry into the increasingly crowded Zenfone series of devices by Asus. We recently observed the launch of the Zenfone 3 Ultra, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the Zenfone 3 Zoom, the Zenfone 3 Max, all of which brought something unique to the table. Between the Max and the all new Zenfone 3s Max, you get a much larger battery, a lower resolution display and a MediaTek processor. How does this bode for user experience and does it warrant an upgrade so early in the product cycle? We find out in our review.  Continue reading “Asus Zenfone 3s Max Review : All Day Power”

Honor 6X Camera Review

Honor 6X_fonearena-06

The Honor 6X is one of the very few smartphones that seems to pack in quite an impressive set of camera features and specifications. The new entrant in the Honor family is the first offering to provide a dual camera setup at this price range. However, specifications are not necessarily any guarantee for a great outcome. Let’s examine the smartphone in detail to see just how good it is.

Brainwavz M3 Review

Brainwavz M3 -2

Brainwavz, the popular Hong Kong based audio product manufacturer has put in a lot of effort over the years to make it’s presence felt in the higher end segment. While the Alpha in-ears we reviewed a while back were aimed directly at the entry level segment, the Brainwavz M3 is invariably a fairly high end headset. We’ve spent some time with the earphone and here’s what we think of it. Continue reading “Brainwavz M3 Review”

Coolpad Mega 3 Review

coolpad-mega-3-review-13

They say that necessity is the mother of invention and true to that, Dual SIM smartphones were born out of the needs of business users, users who travelled a lot and those who often faced signal issues with specific networks. The uptake has been slow but today, a vast majority of phones across categories ship with Dual SIM support. You could say that it is a prerequisite for budget smartphones in India. With the advent of new telecom players like Jio though, those users are now in a dilemma of which SIM card to replace with a Jio SIM. Jokes apart, that certainly seems to be the thought behind the Coolpad Mega 3 as the company recently launched its first Triple SIM device in India. We’ve been using the device for a couple of days now and here’s what we think of it. Continue reading “Coolpad Mega 3 Review”

LG V20 Review

lg_v20_review-7

The LG V series is to the G series what the Galaxy Note series is to the Galaxy S series. However instead of being more of an upgrade or an updated version of the G series, the V series phones have an entirely different personality to themselves. The V10 in fact was without a doubt, one of the best smartphones of 2015. It borrowed many of the specifications and features from the G4 but it fixed almost everything that was wrong with the G4 and then bundled some more unique features into a fresh design. The V10 till this day remains one of the best smartphones on the market and the only real issue that people faced was being able to buy one.
