Qulacomm has just unveiled the Hexagon 680 DSP as the DSP that is being used by the Snapdragon 820 processor. DSPs are used for performing tasks that can be done faster and/or be done using less power as compared to the processor.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i is a cheaper version of the Mi 4 with slightly downgraded specifications. The current Mi 4i which was launched in India by Xiaomi features a Snapdragon 615 processor. While Vertu is famously known for their design and craftmanship, their handsets often run on outdated hardware and perhaps even software. While they have been trying to change that in the past few years, they still do lag behind a bit. But that is about to change if these new benchmarks have anything to say.
